- NexisRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0I have to write a review because it is a shame that Story got less Stars than IT deserves until now.
The writing IS absolut nice, storytelling and everything. Also easy to read and immersive. The Characters are also really good developed.
The Autor did a good Job.
It is a shame, the Story is voted much to Low.
I did Not Finish the Story until now, but i cant believe the Autor could Ruin such a Story in the later chapters, because His writing IS absolute nice and i cant See a voting possible below 4 Stars from serious reviews. And the 4 Stars only than If you dont Like the Story, and eaven than you should Not do that Just because you dont Like how the Story goes.
Guys, pls reward a Autor with Stars If the Autor is able to do a good Job. Dont Take IT for granted that He invests His free time writing for us. - SlippingVirusRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0I never give reviews but I like this story and hope it continues. Also if you have a chance would be able to fixed the pictures and the end of chapter (Intermezzo ~ Regret from Another Life (R18)). If you will be dropping this story would you be able to tell use so we do not keep wondering if it will come back.
- UreolRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0Another great novel coming from APieceOfRock. It's much better than her previous works
Grammar/Style: The grammar is okay. I spotted some errors here and there, but they're mostly misspellings. I like the style (just my opinion though.) It reminds me of Korean novels which this novel very clearly takes inspriation from.
Story: Not much so far. We're introduced to the world, Leinfall noble family, Nova's new Mom, her maid, and other minor characters. One thing this novel surpasses stormsmonarch in is its characters, or lack thereof. This actually plays in the novel's favor since the author can actually take time to develop the characters (which she did).I also like that we're slowly unraveling Nova's past life and how it affects her.
There is something I want to address, and it's Nova's reaction to being GB'd. It took her like 4 paragraphs to calm down, but I think that it's intentional. I think that her identity as a Swordsmaster is more important to her than genders.
World: Actually, we don't know much about the world as of right now and I think it's deliberate on the author's part. What we do know is that it's a vast world with many continents, with the threat of the demon kings being eliminated 5 years prior to the start of the story. There's dungeons and generic fantasy creatures like beast-kins. And there's also a big tower somewhere that grants a wish to anyone who reaches the top floor.
Also we know that there are Otherworlders (from only Korea, Japan and China) and there presence is not really something rare. Oh, and only people with Otherworlders blood can have a system. As of now, the system isn't overbearing. It serves as a more visual notification than a thing you directly use to get stronger.
Characters: I'll review Nova's character first, after that everyone else will be kept in a spoiler tag. I'll update this section as the story goes on.
Nova: Our main character. Formerly Swordsmaster, she reincarnates into a baby boy. She then got GB'd (you know, li - UBER1337pyro333Royal Road★★★★★ 4.5Much like a one or two season anime, the pacing is a bit jumpy and the time scaling can be a bit odd, but honestly it's still good. There's a lot of "why is this going on suddenly" and "I feel like I missed something" moments but at the same time, if I was a reincarnated, suddenly Trans-gender/species person going through all this shit I'd probably be scattered too lol. If I think of it like a full fledged story the pacing and cramming of different scenarios is a bit chaotic, but imagining it like an anime it makes sense. As of my review there's not been an update in months, but I do hope it picks up again!
- MynthioRoyal Road★★★★ 4.0I like the story. However, there is no indication of progression whatsoever. No training or other day-to-day activities are ever really focused upon.
In all (35 currently available) chapters, there were a whole two Status Sheets; all they did was show what becoming gender-bent did. As a reader, I neither know how someone ranks up nor if the MC is working towards this. And if so what that entails. I don't even know what the MC is doing all day long. years have passed and apart from the interesting bits in the chapters, MC has been lazing around non-stop.
This isn't to say I want some slice of life, but whatever you do, as long as you do something it has an effect. Drawing results in pictures. Reading in knowledge or perhaps stories. The MC is absent of any kind of meaningful progress even though five years have passed in the story. Or at least non is ever relevant enough to mention or show or be noticeable.
Despite that, I still find this story entertaining and have hopes that it is going to ramp up into being a progression story eventually. - SkahraRoyal Road★★★★ 3.5This story did originally have a lot of promise, but there is a couple of problems.
I'll start off with the positives:
The first arc of the story was actually pretty decent. There is some decent mystery in both the first and second arc.
The hints towards Ihwa and Nova/Esther being sisters and being unveiled at the end was pretty good, for example.
Nowa also being the reincarnated daughter of the demon King was also pretty good, as well as to why she doesn't outright kill Esther
The combat isn't bad, and the interaction between the two swords and the MC is quite interesting to read.
For the second arc, the troubles and bumps the MC goes through is a nice turn of events, showing how not everything can go your way. The trauma is also a very neat addition to the story.
The changes in the MC as more of a motherly figure for her sister is actually something I really like about this book, especially after she is revealed to be the demon lord's daughter.
I love the use of the influence of Otherworlders in the MC's world. The use of the system is also nifty, which can only be given to those with have the Otherworlder's blood.
Biggest positive factor is fox girl, or more particular, the use of Shinto folklore with Nogitsune and Inari Kitsune. The only thing missing would be the star ball.
Now for the problems:
You don't explain why the MC is so weak, despite being a swordsmaster, well enough.
It took a really long time to explain that the reason why the MC is weak is because she was a one star, and what that exactly means until near the middle end of the first arc, and how she should go about into actually getting stronger.
In the middle of the second arc, the story becomes extremely confusing. Suddenly, she gets transported into a roguelike dungeon? Yeah, it's an interesting premise, but it doesn't fit in the story.
It would probably have been good as a spinoff.
Probably one of my biggest issues, is the use of your POVs. One of my biggest pet peeves that frustrates me to no - JetsmillionRoyal Road★★★★ 3.5The story is deicent enough, but it suffers the same problem that many reincarnator stories do: Wonder Children.
We have a five year old, running around and acting like they are a teenager. That is a so-so problem, but too often we get other people acting like this isn't that wierd rather than freaking out. - pandoraxoRoyal Road★★ 2.0The MC who is supposedly a swordmaster never trains and blushes in front a child when she literally had a wife so he’s not a stranger to women. In all of the 40+ chapters i’ve read we haven’t even seen her train one time and she hides the (little) strength she has. Her father abuses her every time he comes and we are promised a revenge but that’s likely to happen in 5 years considering how slow paced this novel. The biggest turn off is how much of a dumbass the MC is, let’s not talk about the fact that she’s 5 years old running around saving villages and fighting… Yeah realistic. Forced friendship with a girl that has the same name as her past lover, everything feels forced in it. And now out of nowhere author decides to add a random characters that knows the MC’s identity and make her disappear for some "mystery". This is pathetic and ruined my day, the story was enjoyable at the start but now i’d just be torturing myself if I continued. I won’t even talk about the fact that her 2 year old sister killer her familiar and giggled and author tried to make us forget that by describing that scene in just a couple paragraphs.
Only enjoyable characters are her swords… - Glowy3Royal Road★★ 2.0I really hoped it will get better but it got worse.
As of the last chapter not one plot point got resolved.
Many story threads end in nothing, being forgotten or just cut off as to not bother with it.
The MC was a Master Swordsman but since the beginning you could not see it, for he only randomly pulls out old techniques out of his butt to in the end still accomplishing nothing to further the agenda.
While young he acts too old, to then later reverse to the opposite setting clear rules, or to say a vow, at the beginning to just forget they even existed in the first place.
The flow of the chapters more often then not lands in limbo to bring me to scratch my head thinking I missed 2 or 3 chapters…
From people randomly dying to gods messing with everything with the mc just being the playball of it all.
Instead of maturing through the hardships and growing stronger the mc keeps regressing to just randomly loose to a little girl and fainting.
Some RPG traits being implemented like a status and skills to just slowly forget they are there and turn Quests for ascending in Power to „Will slowly get stronger in a set amount of time“.
From Old characters from his past being brought up to then do nothing with it to his current family being forgotten. - MinecraftFanaticRoyal Road★★ 1.5It was decent enough until chapter 37,(completely out of the blue the story was mostly slice of life up until this point) in which the newly introduced little sister who is 2 decides to murder the pet dog of the mc and present the severed head of the poor thing as a "Gift" while maniacally giggling and mutilating the headless corpse. It's just glossed over and not spoken of anymore. Like seriously, WHAT. THE. FUCK. When I say "out of the blue" I mean that the lil sis was born LAST CHAPTER ch.36, and ill iterate it again, WHAT. THE. FUCK........ How the hell isn't this fifty words yet..... I don't particularly understand that...... STILL not fifty words...... Lemon man, Lemon man, Lemon man, Lemon man, Lemon man,
