The pacing of the plot is spot-on, allowing the story to unfold naturally without feeling rushed. The balance between world-building and character development is well-executed, and the moderate pacing ensures the narrative remains engaging without becoming overwhelming. I particularly love the variety of species in this world, and each new creature introduces something exciting. The concept of monster allies, similar to Pokémon, is a fun twist, and the author adds their unique flair, making it feel seamlessly integrated into the story.
The storytelling itself is engaging, with multiple character viewpoints enriching the narrative. Each character has a distinct voice, making the world feel more alive and the relationships more genuine. I really appreciate how the author has built a complex world while keeping the story accessible. There’s a great balance between emotional moments and action-packed sequences, with enough space for both to breathe. It’s clear that a lot of thought and care has gone into crafting this world and its characters.
While there are a few minor grammar hiccups, they don’t detract from the overall flow of the story. It’s still very well written.
The characters are definitely one of the story’s strongest aspects. Ondun, in particular, feels like a fully developed protagonist who’s authentic and multi-dimensional. The author does a great job of ensuring each character’s voice stands out, which makes transitions between different points of view smooth and seamless. I found myself invested in Ondun’s journey and am excited to see how his story unfolds. The character interactions feel natural, and their motivations are clear, making their actions believable.
This fantasy is a must-read if you’re looking for a moderately paced, well-written immersive escape into a fantasy world full of diverse monsters with personality.

Ninja, magic (anima), portal traveling, capsuled monsters fighting - what's not to like?
After reading a few chapters, it gives off an adult pokemon feel, with the idea of capsules which stores mons, and then guardians who can call them out to fight each other. Ondan - the ninja / anima user then gets thrown into this new world of mons, completely different to his own and has to learn and adjust fast.
The fight between Ondan and Sparkles the Faerrow from Guardian Alice was also quite interesting. A very different take given, its generally monster vs monster, but Ondan being human (well mostly), able to fight and overcome Sparkles was fun to read.
Quite like the pacing of the fights as well, giving enough details to picture how it goes, but doesn't drag out.
Will keep an eye on this to see how the story continues to develop.

I have had the pleasure of following this author’s works from the time they were posting earlier stories on Spacebattles under the name of Asvarduil. When I got word that they were posting a brand new story on Royal Roads, I leapt at the chance to read it and I’m so glad I did. This novel, Greatest Hero, Greatest Tamer, is an amazing extension of their earlier work. Their writing is even better, their world-building even stronger, and their characters even more lovable than before. They just keep on growing and growing as a writer and I am excited to see where they go next, even as I enjoy reading their earlier work.
One of the best things about this story is that it’s such a great blend of a ton of different genres that mostly don’t get mixed together but work perfectly here. This story is a blend of monster-taming fantasy, high fantasy-style world-building, and even a mystery that crosses multiple generations. If you like Pokemon, Monster Hunter, and Terry Pratchett, you will love this story!
One of the things that I’m most impressed by is the way that this author balances two different worlds (Monastria and Arcania) that makes them feel different but connected. This is also while balancing a great cast of characters (Ordun is a wonderful lead but I’m also fond of the supporting characters, who are colorful without being overbearing or annoying), an amazing variety of monsters, satisfying and engaging combat scenes, a rich and growing magic system, and world-building that comes across as organic instead of expositon-y. Even better is that the author has a great sense of humor and whimsy, which they can infuse into their writing so that everything isn’t a grim-dark slog. You really end up feeling attached to the characters, which makes the scenes where they’re in danger even more thrilling and terrifying.
This is a wonderful story that honestly really shines, particularly in later chapters. I highly recommend it and hope you will give it a try!

First things first, this story has solid worldbuilding. The magic and monster systems are well thought out foundations that can be expanded later. All things pertaining to the worldbuilding were revealed and explained more by character interactions as the story moved forward, without info dumping/ exposition. The two worlds, Monastria and Arcania were handled well, they're both thematically and stylistically different from each other to establish the contrast between their systems. There was some linking between the two worlds In my read, I got the feeling both worlds are using different terminology for the same underlying thing, which is fascinating.
In Monastria the variety of monsters is truly stellar, they range from small cute ones to overpowered dangerous ones. The battles between them could have varied unpredictability, making these battles more enjoyable. It felt like the spectrum of monsters drew heavy inspiration from Pokemon+Monster Hunter, Former on the cute end and the latter on the dangerous end.
The writing style fits this kind of story, its very flexible, serious enough to describe the battles and whimsical enough for interactions with these cute monsters and witty dialogue with other characters.
Ondun couldn't be any cooler than he is. He is a dragonoid ninja with anima powers. He is written and characterized very well, he is a resilient, competent person that finds challenge irresistible. Aenora and Alice also great and powerful characters, Dr. Wusiji serves as a fun knowledgeable character that is instrumental for Ondun to learn about this monster world.
Grammar struggled in a couple places with longer descriptions, awkward sentence structure and lurking passive voice where it was detrimental. But nothing stuck out like a sore thumb to break my immersion. Some suggestions that aren't directly related to the story but are crucial in my opinion: The blurb is a bit vague and short. It could use a rewrite to be longer, divulge more about the MC, who t

Loving this so far, I can easily say that the capsules monster move is beyond exciting to read, and it makes you wonder how the battle are going to turn out. The fight scene was done well same goes with the characters. Keep up with the uploading and surely more people will find this.

GHGT is a fun and promising story featuring Ondun - a ninja-like Draconian and legendary hero. While trying to help his sick friends and uncover the mystery behind their condition, Ondun is suddenly thrown into a different world, with no clue how to get back.
The story features an intriguing mystery. Both worlds appear to be connected in some deeper way, and Ondun must uncover the truth to save his friends. The hook is effective - the small hints of mystery sprinkled throughout the chapters I've read were well-placed and kept me curious.
Worldbuilding is strong, with plenty of unique Mons (creatures comparable to Pokemons) and a interesting origin world for Ondun.
Grammar is solid. I didn't notice any major errors that disrupted the reading experience - full points here.
The characters are interesting and definitely leave you curious to see where they could develop. Having said that, While Ondun is clearly strong and competent, I felt like he could benefit from a bit more emotional depth. As the main character, he takes up most of the spotlight, so building a stronger emotional connection with him as early as possible would really elevate the story.
The style is good and the story reads really well. My only complaint here would be for some chapters jumping between settings multiple times (switching from the world Ondun was teleported to, back to his original world and friends, then back again). This structure felt a bit disjointed at times. These transitions might work better as separate chapters altogether, which would help with pacing and readability.
    TL;DR
An interesting and promising story with a compelling mystery hook, solid writing, and plenty of room to grow into something great!

Greatest Hero, Greatest Tamer is full of monsters and creatures and features an MC who, while investigating a strange device in an old ruin, is suddenly whisked into another world altogether.
Our MC, Ondun, has to survive on the new planet and finds himself encountering some incredibly unique and beautiful monsters. The descriptions and turns of phrase are very nice all along the way.
The Writing is solid and the monster descriptions are diverse and descriptive and fun. I’m excited to see where this story goes next - and what other monsters it discovers! Thanks for the story!

World building: While yes, part is heavily Pokemon influenced, nonetheless, the magic system of Anima, Arcania, and Monstria are both very well rendered. The Mons, while influenced by Pokémon monsters, do have some creativity to them, and things are like Pokémon, not a direct copy. Arcnis is complex with politics and magic, and monsters. It is a truly well-developed world, and the magic in which Ondun uses is both complex and well-rendered, with rules and things to it.
Style:  Pacing is great. I have no trouble keeping time with the pace. Tone is also good, I have no trouble discerning tone. The hook to the first chapter: Ondun was no miner, yet he slammed a pickaxe into a mass of rubble again and again. Could use a bit more umph. You want to capture your audience from the get-go. Try to come up with something more urgent if you can’t. My suggestion is to open in the middle of the action or closer to it. In Medias Res.
Now, while many people might not find anything wrong with this, I still caution against it, and that is showcasing two distinct worlds in one chapter. It’s too much information to sift through and absorb all at once, and keep straight for many. Instead, separate the worlds in separate chapters and expand on things such as the anima workings, which were a bit crammed together at the end. You can also deepen characters this way with more space for each to grow and explore the dichotomy between them and their goals, motivations, and conflicts, which drive each.
The fight scenes are superb, I have no complaints about the action in this story.
Grammar: You do super here, only two mistakes that I caught in ten chapters. Really good.
Characters: I like your characters, and ten chapters aren’t enough to write odes about them or put them down. Ondun is starting to become a little deeper in characterization. Most characters are basic and pass the goals, motivation, and Conflicts test, so they have basic agency. Some, like Alice and Dr. Wuiji, are bigger players

I accidentally deleted my first draft so lemme try again.
    The monster variety was stellar!
As i said before the character writing and the difference in perspective between different characters was off the wall!
The magic system and environs made the world feel alive and you really felt like you were there, like you were experiencing it!
And experiencing it without a shit ton of gory violence helps the immersion immensely.
The levity was also appreciated because too many Series get high off the high fantasy fumes and just keep it too serious 😒
    Cant wait to read more!!

Your story features an intriguing blend of action, worldbuilding, and character development. The mix of mystery and the vivid, dynamic characters—especially Ondun and his bond with Aquepup—makes the narrative engaging. The complex elements, such as Ondun’s powers, the monsters, and the larger world conflicts, hint at a layered universe that promises more depth as the story unfolds.
Ondun is presented as a competent, resourceful protagonist with an interesting balance between strength and vulnerability. His relationship with Aquepup is tender yet pragmatic, and it enriches his characterization. The child, Mike, introduces a lighter, more relatable angle and also acts as a contrast to Ondun’s seasoned, mysterious nature. This helps ground the story and makes the stakes personal. The antagonist—the Gloomwolf—is both menacing and intriguing, and its eventual confrontation with Ondun is tense and rewarding.
The world of Monastria, with its monster-hunting society and supernatural elements, feels immersive. The presence of entities like the "Wayfarer's Brand" and Ondun's mystical abilities immediately draws the reader in. The plot blends mystery with action seamlessly, especially with the enigmatic message from the unknown entity. This dynamic sets up a compelling narrative thread about an otherworldly influence causing corruption. However, there is a slight sense that some of the world’s details (like the monsters’ specific lore or the significance of places like Lake Yongqi) could benefit from more explanation, especially for new readers.
The action sequences are fast-paced and filled with clear strategy, making Ondun's combat skills shine. The tension is kept high, particularly in the battle with the Gloomwolf. The pacing feels natural, with well-placed moments of humor and reflection that balance the intense action.
Clarify World Rules: A little more context about Ondun's powers and how they interact with the world would make his abilities clearer for readers unfamili
