Description
Does time travel exist?
Did he really build such a machine?
If so, why did he choose to keep it hidden?
Questions like these consumed the minds of the public during the lifetime of the brilliant and enigmatic physicist, Dr. Herbert Cooper. But those questions seemed destined to remain unanswered when he was tragically and brutally murdered.
Or so everyone thought...
A decade after his death, Dr. Cooper's grandchildren receive a cryptic telegram inviting them to uncover the truth: the time machine their grandfather supposedly created, hidden somewhere within the mysterious and sprawling island of Teracora.
But did Dr. Cooper truly unlock the secrets of time travel?
Or is this a deadly trap, orchestrated by the very forces that silenced him forever?

- MilcRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0It's so refreshing to find a story like this on RR. It unabashedly decides to be different while being engaging and fun to read.
The plot is a sci-fi/murder mystery with possible treasure and technology. The time it's set is as mysterious as the location of the possible time machine. It's certainly set before a lot of modern technology based on the telegrams and ships, as well as the absence of mobile phones! I don't want to drop spoilers in a review but what seems obvious may not be the case and the ever pervasive threat of the unknown killer stalks the reader as much as the characters.
The MC is well characterised and fun to read. The other cast are memorable and well thought out with clashing personalities, objectives and theories.
The prose is a cut above a lot of stories on here and any mistakes are fixed by the author when they're pointed out. Nothing to complain about at all.
Overall I got a kind of more mature Goonies or Famous Five kind of a vibe from what I've read so far. I've followed and faved. If you're looking for something other than system apocalypses, isekai and cultivation I'd recommend giving Grandfather paradox a go. You won't regret it.
