Description

Book 1 is available onKUandAudible!

A new and isolated necromancer, Jerry decides to follow the unique approach of befriending his undead. As he grows in power, it turns out his methods may hold a lot more merit than it seems…

Ostracized by his fellow villagers, hunted by bandits, and watched by the Royal Guard's least elite squad, Jerry is called to balance creating a lovely home with practicing his craft and unleashing death and destruction on his enemies.

Unfortunately, taking it slow is not an option. Wizard supremacists tour the Kingdom, Archmages enact devious plans, and the world needs Jerry more than his village does. Adventure calls—death is overrated, anyway.

Thrust in the middle of ancient conspiracies, Jerry is not only determined to survive and thrive…but also to enjoy the process.

Very fun story. It doesn't fall into the mistakes a lot of similarly comedic stories do. The necromancer is goofy and nice, but he still knows how to ice a bitch and there are limits to his patience. He's not a perfect avatar of goodness or cheer, he's just a pretty happy-go-lucky guy who has been stuck in effectively a fugue state since childhood, so he's sort of like a well-behaved child in temperament at the start of the story. But he gets wise when people repeatedly try to mess with him.
All the other characters are similarly well established and multi-faceted. There's no situation that makes me think the characters are contorting themselves to allow for the author to make repeated jokes about the absurdity of a good-guy necromancer.
A lot of the time what happens in these stories is that the authors are constantly trying to tell the same joke, oh the necromancer is nice, oh the people are baffled. And they just do this same gimmick over and over again while never allowing the characters to have any other role besides fool and straight-man. This book nicely avoids that and tells an actually serious story, but with characters that can be funny at times. Nothing broke my suspension of disbelief.

I was a touch disappointed bc when I first saw it I thought it was a sequel to the original, not a repost.
But I enjoyed the story the first time. Can't say the editing has changed a whole lot, but it's still fun. Characters are pretty feel good with some comedy and dark humor. Worth a read.

I've quite enjoyed the story so far, it's been a nice change of pace to not read about an edgy necromancer.
I can't really think of anything I could say to help improve the story or your writing, so I'll just say keep up the good work, and try not to burn yourself out trying to keep up chapter post. It would be awesome if more were posted though.

Starts at a medium pace and the quality of writing improves from good to amazing by the late 30s.
Clever use of puns without excessive cringe.  Good humility.  MC is not dumb or overly smart.  Nothing broken or overpowered!  A+
I'm not going to give spoilers so the 50 word limit feels very unusual.

The story of Jerry the good guy necromancer is funny and interesting so far. Some characters seemed a bit flat, but I still enjoy it a lot and look forward to the next chapters.
I hope we will learn more about the intricacies of magic together with Jerry.
Down with the Mage-Supremacists and prejudiced idiots!

Interesting necromancer set up, good pace and interesting dialogue. There is depth in the characters of the story, minions also. It can be sometime funny and other time serious. Well balance. I won't spoil.
Just one thing, but I think it's personal taste. Jerry has a child's brain. Sometime he is literally brain dead. BUT it's well explained in the story why he is like that. So sometime it's annoying but it's personal and not a mistake of the author. We can see Jerry changing along the challenge. I just hope he won't stay that naive. (It's personal)
Anyway, well done author, overalls, I love it ❤️

This story was written before (by the same person of course) and as such this review has to come in consideration of that. Grammar wise there's nothing wrong with this, the story and tone are consistent and the characters are consistent both with regards to the setting and in regards to how they have acted in earlier chapters of this story. The only reason I haven't given this a full 5 stars is some mild concern with the way Jerry (the main character and the titular good guy necromancer) had his back story explained instead of shown as in the previous version of that. Still that is mostly subjective and so 4 5 stars
Overall, pretty good story and one i will continue to read.

This story does not take itself serious, however it does respect your time.
I love this story I think it's jokes land and the characters are endearing nad are surprisingly fleshed out (pun intended) for a story whose main appeal is a relaxed comedy. The world building isn't overly complex but that doesn't mean it's not well thought out, I feel that it's simple to show the black and white way people veiw things.  This allows for easy contrast of Jerry being good instead of  the sterotypical evil necromancer.

I really enjoyed reading this story. It’s funny and engaging, the characters are interesting, and the premise is unique.
My favorite aspect is how Jerry experiments with various skeletons to create new undead - and the unique personalities that come from his experiments. I hope to see more of that in future chapters.

I find the story somewhat simplistic and slow moving, but enjoying idea the just because others see you as bad and are afraid of you, doesn't make you the bad guy.
Ironically by engendering change he ends up playing into the trope of the evil necromancer on some levels.
