- Cherry_ValeRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0This story is quite frankly amazing. It manages to get everything to just the right level of cliche where it's funny, but it still is clearly not just a cliche. Honestly what I'm most impressed by in this story is its characters.
It has a huge cast of characters, but it keeps them different enough that not only are they memorable, but I even remember their names. The MCs also manage to have personal growth while still maintaining basically the same characteristics so they can continue the humorous cliches, but also progress the story.
The story itself is also fantastic. The group manages to constantly encounter various humorous problems with said problems managing to link back to the overarching plot in interesting ways. It's kind of like a shounen in the way they move on and encounter new people each time, except in this story it doesnt feel like they just recycle the same plot over and over again.
The style is quite nice although I dont have a ton to say about it. The author manages multiple perspectives quite well and the style of writing is really funny so yeah- good on that end.
The grammar is the only bot great spot. There are semi-frequent typos in the story. It's always easy to understand what is meant, but it does kinda detract from the story a bit.
Anyway- great story, no idea how it hasnt already been on trending. Lots of humor, great characters and a good plot. - William RistauRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0I'm giving this a 5 star cause I really like this story it's sanny, wacky and just fun to read. Do I know where it is going not a clue and it's better for it. Sure it may have some grammer errors but I failed all of high school English and I can understand and read this just fine with out it hurting my head ( a few story's I've tried have). So if your wanting something that you can pick up read to make your bad day feel better I think this is one of those so give it a try. On the off chance this is not for you I wish you a very good day and I hope you find the book your looking for.
- Ext1433sRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0Funny and entertaining. who likes Terry Pratchett will also have fun here.
A princess/frog team in a single body is let loose on her kingdom.
Warning, may contain traces of:
googly eyes, assassins, hellcats, highwayman, gods, demons, and a giant rubber duck.
But watch out for owls! .... and the lawyers! - Hello I am MullenRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0Purposefully light on plot. Feel good funny.
Love the language used (Tea and Bickies).
Summary: frog(Mibbet) minding its own business gets changed into a pre-existing princess who now is in the backseat. Tries to frog in a human body.
Learns to cooperate with the voice in her head and tried to find a way back to her preferred groggy form. - LehnsaRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0I had this one in my "read later" pile for a while before getting around to it, and when I did I found myself enjoying it immensely.
With a flair for word-play that is not the same as but quite reminiscent of Douglas Adams, you'll find more alliteration than you can shake a stick at. All seasoned heavily with puns and aptronyms. The grammar leaves a lot to be desired but 1. It's currently even in the title that it's going through editing 2. The author's strength is in putting out more of this amazing writing and that's good for us all and 3. Honestly doesn't get in the way of the amount of joy in reading it.
The characters are all gems with plenty of representation (a woefully underappreciated thing even in this day and age). Loose ends get revisited and tied up neatly with appreciated brevity that will never leave you away from the main cast for long. While reading I was always smiling, chuckling often, laughing with regular occasion, and even shed a tear or two.
Please don't shy away from reading this. If you have any appreciation for creative literature you won't regret it and this story deserves so much recognition. - AldandurRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0If you want to have a good laugh, you have come to the right place. This story takes multiple story clichés and turns them upon their heads. There is a lot of misunderstanding (as can be expected, when your ruler's heir's body is suddenly steered by a frog, but the gist of it is that it just works.
The grammar is good and the writing style makes it easy to follow the story without and getting lost or confused in the scenes and transitions. My greatest compliment that I can give this story is that it has at least made smile, if not more, in every chapter.
The one thing that peeves me a bit is the title, as in my opinion "Give me back my lilly pad" sounds a bit more musical than Give me my lily pad back, but that is just personal preference (and the way I refer to this story in my head :) - MamiRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0If you are looking to read a completely serious novel with numbers go up mentality pass this one up
If you are not dead set on your preferences for litrpg(or any other genre for that matter) and thinking about giving this novel a try, just stop and start reading it - LiquidThoughtRoyal Road★★★★★ 4.5‘Give me my lily pad back’ is a fairytale short story about a frog that gets magically trapped in the body of a princess. That’s the premise, and everything that follows is hilarious!
The story maintains its light-hearted comedy throughout, making me chuckle as the MC stumbles through the world and adjusts to twoleg…human life. The premise and humour kept me interested until the antagonists and villains came into the story, then it just seemed to get better. There isn't any mountains of backstory to any of the characters (which serves the story) and I found the author’s wit, writing style, and comedic narrative super enjoyable.
If you want to kick back and enjoy a fun little story full of humour, then this should be on your follow list.
As far as criticism, I can only notice some minor grammar errors, perhaps a single spelling mistake. But the writing itself is top quality, and the story is exactly what it says on the tin: Funny. - Rhia_readerRoyal Road★★★★★ 4.5Odd but funny. Give it a go.
An unique take on the frog princess concept where the characters got the memo. Eventually. Kinda. Properly. Maybe? It was a bit coffee stained in all honesty...
There's a king, a princess, a frog, a witch, coffee, a drought, a prince, a new born god, a cult wearing pink, an owlbear cub, a fashion don'ts auction and most rare of all: common sense.
You'll either love it or hate it but personally I love the names the minor cast get. Give it a go and see what you think. - vtech1855Royal Road★★★★ 3.5The story is very enjoyable and light, and it's clear the author is putting effort into this. My simplest description would be a comedy of errors, which when done well can be brilliant.
It needs an editor more so than I can convey here. There are spelling errors, punctuation that's been missed or added, and the occasional formatting issue, which are problems that can be corrected.
I gave it a chance, hop-fully you will too!
