- WuldenRoyal Road★★★★ 4.0Let me start by saying that I enjoyed this story quite a bit. It is good, it is fun, the characters (protagonists and villains) are compelling. I will also say pre-spoilers, that the content of my spoilers really may impact your enjoyment of those parts unless you are already familiar with Daniel's writing. If you have pulled context from other stories, then the spoiler's may not impact you as much. BUT, don't be worried too much. If this is your first... When the moment happens (and you will see it), just take a deep breath, calm down, and keep reading as it all makes sense in the story and it ultimately does work.
That being said, this is a great story, and it deserves praise and any viewers it gets!
I can't recommend reading the story first before the spoilers Below. Don't jip your experience by spoiling it below! Read the spoilers after you read the story!
So This will be split into 3 parts:
1) The perspective Shift
In the chapter No More. This is 13 chapters deep into the story, and half way through the chapter, we get slapped with a perspective shift. It is the first time this occured in the entire book. We have always had the perspective of Diomedes, and it was jarring to suddenly switch to Richard. Not only was Richard a character with no substance prior to the focus shift, he was ultimately a very small character to merit the shift for. NOW the scene that was used, is important, so it isn't that I don't think the perspective shifts shouldn't have been there. I just think you should have established alternative perspectives through out the story (I will go over these examples as we move down so bare with me). It was jarring to have this perspective happen this late into the book, this abruptly, and to a character that ultimately served as 1 hook into a plot hook.
2) The Presence of David
David's presence was jarring, and immediately after the jaring perspective shift. In context, I understand why he is here, and I don't necessarily oppose his
