The world is barren, mankind has moved civilization onto mobile cities that travel across the vast desert-scape in search of water and fertile land, as the world ended previously, the hierarchy of society reverted. Those who worked in the lower levels of the cities were those who worked the gears and boiler rooms and were called lessers and were always treated as such. The caste system of this society was ironclad once you were a Lower you were a Lower until death. The Uppers look down on the Lower with contempt. Vick was born a Lower he would most likely die one or so he thought. A tale of revolution, passion, and love begins. It begins beneath the gears beneath the steam engines, lamp lights, and streets of Gero.
