Garlic, Gravy, and Goblin Goop

Description
What if you could bake goblins? Not like how you bake a pie but, well no actually it's almost exactly like that. You sit around, pile some apple slices and sugar into a crust, throw some cinnamon on top, put that mess into an oven, and 45 minutes later you have a pie. Well, if you substituted a sufficiently fresh corpse and just a smidge of magic for the apple slices and sugar, you might just end up creating a very different kind of pie. A sinister pie with a heartbeat, dreams, and powerful stupidity. Now what kind of chef would want to cook up an unholy abomination like that?
A goblin, obviously. Goblin Chef specifically. Life isn't easy when you're born as a goblin but cursed with taste. Seriously, have you seen goblins eat? If they get hungry enough, they will walk out of their cave and literally eat dirt. Some of them will even try to chew rocks. But no, good old Goblin Chef won't settle for a life of eating dirt and mush. The only thing that he needs are some proper ingredients, hope, and the assistance of his magic to finally have some good food. If only it looked better...
Garlic, Gravy, and Goblin Goop is a satirical LitRPG that focuses primarily on our protagonist, Goblin Chef, or Chef as his friends call him. Goblins and enemies can call him Chef too. If you're looking for a slightly unhinged protagonist that is more interested in learning how to make cookies than he is in power-leveling to a million and fist fighting god, then you've come to the right place!
I upload a chapter every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday at 3 pm EST.

- CielineriRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0Chef doesn't want to be a murderhobo. He wants to be, as his name indicates, a chef. Which is hard when you are a goblin, a filthy goblin who likes to set things on fire for little reason. So Chef decides to learn cooking from humans. He has a lot to learn... The humans distrust him, and one thinks Chef is trying to kill the humans from within. Maybe he will. Maybe he won't. Even if he does, he'll probably spare Mirri. So that is Garlic Gravy & Goblin Goop. A comedic story about a goblin trying to cook. High quality.
- HyeonRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0This web novel delivers on its promise of a monster story with a unique twist. The addition of goblin-styled cooking adds a fun and creative element to the story.
The main character is well-developed and goes through an actual character development without losing his goblin nature. The character development is well-written and doesn't feel abrupt or forced.
While some of the enemy encounters may feel predictable, it's not a major issue since it's not the focus of the story. The world-building has a lot of potential, although it hasn't been fully explored yet , there is a lot of potential for further exploration.
The grammar is good and the writing is overall well-crafted. I highly recommend this novel to anyone who enjoys monster stories with a unique twist. - Jack0fheartRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0Garlic, Gravy, and Goblin Goop is a delightful and clever story that will have you laughing out loud from start to finish. The fast-paced and playful style, combined with the wit and absurdity of the characters, make for a truly enjoyable reading experience.
Overall Score 5/5: Garlic, Gravy, and Goblin Goop is a fun and entertaining read that is sure to appeal to fans of absurdist humor and offbeat fantasy.
Style Score 5/5: The style of the story is fast-paced and playful, with a heavy emphasis on dialogue and character interactions. The language is light and humorous, and the characters are vividly drawn and have distinct personalities.
Story Score 5/5: Garlic, Gravy, and Goblin Goop is a chaotic and amusing romp through the absurd world of goblin politics. While it can be a bit hard to follow at times, the wry wit and absurdity of the situations keep the reader engaged and entertained.
Grammar Score 5/5: This is my least important rating, I only require a story is legible for me to enjoy it. Garlic, Gravy, and Goblin Goop more than meets my criteria.
Character Score 5/5: The characters in the story are the real highlight, with Chef being a lovable and hapless protagonist and Kek being a bumbling yet endearing sidekick. Chief, the antagonist of the story, is also a well-developed and intriguing character.
All in all, Garlic, Gravy, and Goblin Goop has unconventional storytelling and style. I highly recommend it to those who enjoy a good laugh, they will definitely find something to enjoy in this quirky tale! ♥ - SnowslyRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0Delightful story about a Goblin chef. This story delivers. It's unique concept is interesting while also creating a good power progression keeping the story from stagnating. The story avoids falling into the trap of many crafting litRPGs of do something and gain a dozen skills and levels forcing the main character to experiment and refine his craft to gain skills and levels. Definitely a must read especially if you enjoy litRPGs and an Antihero lead.
- TheLakeKingRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0Y'know how a lot of non-human protagonists just feel like a human with scales, or a human with claws, or, commonly, literally just a human isekai'd into another body. I HATE this. A non-human character should have a unique and non-human view of the world.
Luckily for me and any other enthusiast of the genre, this story does not have that problem. In fact, this is one of the most well-written non-human protagonists I've ever read. Chef is unique and fascinating, and his character develops in an understandable way throughout the story. The other characters in the story, while not quite as developed, are also well-written, and the POV changes are enjoyable, not breaking the flow of the story, a fun addition.
The story is a perfect blend of action, comedy, and (kind of) slice of life. I could easily read a thousand pages of the little goblin doing his goblin-y things. When I finished all of the published chapters I was left with a hollow, empty feeling, like finishing the last little bit of ice cream or eating the last slice of pulsating goop pie (read the story).
The grammar is excellent, the style is cozy and very enjoyable. I really hope that the author continues the story of this little green cooking maniac.
