Description

Jack desperately wants someone to believe him.  He is seeing blue boxes that seem to know everything about him.  He reveals himself to his family and neighbors, only to learn that some things are better kept quiet.  At least he isn't alone.  His childhood best friend seems to have powers too.  How far down does this rabbit hole go?

This is my first attempt at writing.  Expect the genre to wander. Currently on Hiatius.

This is a great story!! Characters are realistic, plot is obviously well thought out, lots of room MC development! Also I find it good that the MC is not instantly OP but is growing at a reasonable rate.
    Keep up the awesome work!

This was one of the three first fictions I ever read on this website. Might have been one of the first 10 webfictions ever, actually. And it more than deserves such a title, being better and better with time. Each time I look back at it, i realise one more detail that I missed. This here is something deeper than the usual, or that might just be massive amounts of nostaliga talking. Anyway, I do recommend this one strongly. Loved it so much a long time ago

    As of chapter 14.
For those who have read The Gamer, it is of similar concept except better/realistic and on top of that a touch of virtual reality. By that I mean that many peole have power and he has this gaming power with him getting stats, skills, quests and loots. (More similarities but ill just shut up here)
Characters: I really like the mc since you can see he is acting is age. Being 18 years old you shouldn't be so sure of yourself and especially doing everything right on the first try. He is trying to get help, tips and advise from people he trust and he is making mistake. That in itself could be kind of boring but he is especially funny and entertaining so it adds a nice touch of comedy to the story that The Gamer don't have. For the OP fan well you're gonna get what you want and could expect him to be pretty strong in the future.
Not many chapters are out yet, but the few characters introduced are well done. They have personalities, quirks and they are alive.
Story and style: I like it. The pace is good and there are no passage I just want to skip cause its boring. There are not much plot holes even if I sense a strong plot armor going on. The chapters are also of a considerable length so it is a plus. You can also see that the authors is setting things up for futur plot and that in a few chapters we will see more clearly where the story is going.
Grammar: It is pretty good. English not being my first language, I might have missed a few but I could only spot one or two by chapters. However, since they are fairly long chapters it is pretty good and also doesn't interrupt the flow of the story.
All in all it is pretty good. For the fan of LitRpg, opness and VR(that is something I didn't expect but fit fairly well in this story) you'll be served. It is well written and I think that it can get pretty high in RRL' best series. Give it a try, you'll thank me.
For the author. (If you're not the author read at your own risk cause it may contains spoiler). Good jo

Good so far but not sure how much more I'll read so far the mc is absolutely spineless and as a college student is letting everyone else in his life dictate his life but himself, he's old enough to have his own personality, but so far that personality is slave and whipping boy

Honestly this is a good story and it is well written. The only thing stopping me from getting into it is how much of a pushover the MC is. I mean it would be fine to capitulate on some things, but it seems like he lets his parents and freind decide everything and do whatever they want to him.

What you have here is a classic example of a wonderful idea being dragged down by cliched characters, stale interactions, and no struggle to get stronger. The original idea is fascinating. I love the idea of some people having access to a system in today's world, and I was fascinated to see where this goes. Unfortunately, the main character is forced to go along with the wishes of a shadowy organization, a childhood friend, his parents, and pretty much anyone who tells him to do anything. Any chance of personal growth is ruined because the main character really doesn't have the free will to do anything for himself.
The final product is a rather stale story about a main character training and discovering powerful hacks left and right only to be prevented from doing anything fun with those powers by annoying side characters and groups.

The story is the gamer remade for the author. It's okay but not great. Writing is actually good, but the story is kinda not good and the MC is a doormat. Grammar seems good and there are blue boxes, but that is about it.
Honestly just read Adelaide's review it's good and explains what I feel for the story.

Adelaide gives a pretty complete view on my thoughts on this story. The MC of this story is the abusive "childhood friend" who uses her power to completely supress any character the MC may have. She is too omnipresent, too controling, and too domineering for the story.
There is perhaps a way to write a total bitch, put her in every chapter, and have the MC take her constant abuse and make it intersting...well, maybe not, but I see what the author is going for. The whole thing falls flat, if you want to make the OP friend the main character, do that. Otherwise I am reading a story of the world's most cucked individual
