People have a hard time with percentile. A simpler conversion and explanation is this. (100% = 1.00) When you see this, they're the same thing. When you multiply a number, let's say 2, by 1 or 1x. It stays as 2, 100%, or 1.00. (This doubles the damage in a gamer-type story like this.) If it's below 100% or 1.00, it looks like this. (89% = 0.89) If you're multiplying, let's say 200, by 0.89 or 89%. It becomes 178. This is why 50% or 0.50 is only half the damage increase. (1000 x 0.50 or 50% = 500), so you increase the base 1000 damage by half the amount, which is 500. Bringing the total damage up to 1500.Now, to your question, how does a -200% decrease in physical damage work if 100% is suppose to stop all damage? Simple, let's say someone deals 2500 points of damage to Fuyuki. With a -200% or just simply stated as a200% damage reduction, this is how it looks. (2500 divided by 2.00 or 200% = 1250) When you're reducing damage instead of increasing it, you use division instead of multiplication.Here's how it looks the other way, with a damage increase. Let's say Fuyuki does 3000 damage with a Ninjutsu, and he has a 400% increase in damage with a buff from one of his skills. This is how it looks. (3000 x 4.00 or 400% = 12,000) Remember, every increment of 100% is actually 1.00 times the damage. Which means dealing 100% damage actually means doubling the base damage.Hope this helps!
