Description
Srettia, an Aasteran miner, found the mother load. Enough ore and metals to sustain her for months. Excited about her haul, she almost failed to notice an unknown ship entering her home system at an unusual speed. Before she could react, the ship proceeded to crash into her asteroid. Her fate and the fate of her people is about to change. The older Terrans have arrived and realized the Aasteran home system has been destroyed by an unknown force. Seeking to aid the failing Aasteran people and uncover who is responsible, a new alliance between Aasteran and Terran is built.

- MirikonRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0Loved reading this story in the HFY reddit. Glad to see it come to RR. The story is well thought out, has good grammar, and the characters are ones that you actually want to spend time with. Keep up the good work!
Basically, if you're a fan of sci-fi, HFY stories, about humans doing crazy things just because someone told them no, check this out. - CookedEwokRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0It's one of the best stories I've read, but unfortunately the author hasn't finished the story and it's been two years since part 200 on reddit. The story is great don't get me wrong, but the humans are kind of pushover in that they let aliens treat them with utter disrespect sometimes (talking about Chrarada). The story also left off when it was finally ramping up and reaching the whole purpose of the story
- Alexanderthegr8Royal Road★★★★★ 5.0didnt think id see this story on here
pog
...
ok so i need this to be longer
if you like scaly space babe and space ship stuff while a slaver race of void dwelling idiots try and enlsave shit but then get clapped by super humanity in fancy space ships youve come to the right place - Skyryder43Royal Road★★★★ 4.0I've enjoyed reading this story such as it is....wish the author would continue on with it though! Starts kinda in the dark but things start to clear up pretty fast. Still looking for the "Big Baddy" lurking behind the curtain, manipulating all the chaos, this supposed "Builder God" so ya, hope the author pick this story back up and finishes it.
- Nomad_00Royal Road★★★★ 3.5This is a wonderful little story, the beginning has everything I could have wanted in a HFY space opera. The human side main character is a test pilot flying a brand new spaceship with an experimental warp drive with a built in AI companion. The alien side is a run of the mill miner, she just found the mother load of “ore” and sees herself finally becoming comfortable. Warp drive goes wrong, their worlds collide, bada bing bada boom, life is never the same again.
The characters are a little simple, in the sense that they are not that deep, but not in a bad way, as this helps the story progress at a reasonable pace.
As for the pace, the beginning is quite spectacular but it slowly tapers off, it’s not unbearable but something that comes to mind often.
Let me be clear on this, I do not mind romance in HFY or any genre for that matter, in fact, I welcome it. BUT when every woman in this story is in some sex craved relationship, it gets old. I do realize that this is part of the tags, and if this is what you are looking for, then great. But just a little warning if you don't.
The grammar is quite good, nothing horrible, and the world building is more than good
Id rate is 3.6 to 4 out of 5. despite the I had fun reading it, and I hope you do too. - SherpADerpRoyal Road★★★★ 3.5It's an alright read. Pretty YA style fiction, like others have said it's an easy read but it does lack depth. Given that the author wrote it as a form of therapy after a TBI though it's quite impressive.
The narrative itself is a blend of trite cliches and surprising innovation. I've read a truly massive amount of sci Fi and yet I can't remember any setting that focuses on heat as a resource despite it being a genuine concern. Oh, there have been mentions such as issues of radiating it in space and such but to have it represented as a cultural factor in a post-apocalyptic society is new for me. The cliche aspects, well they're cliches but they're well done.
The grammar itself is infrequently incorrect and when it is hoo boy is it wild. Just nonsensical. Luckily such incidents are rare.
The characters are . . . Like half the time they're interesting and the other half of the time they make the story feel like an episode of Star Trek TNG but everyone is Riker. By which I mean horny as fuck for that Xussy. Honestly it's jarring how immediately everyone wants to bang an alien to the point of any semblance of character development being just skipped past and I find it really ruins the immersion. A couple of times it was funny but mostly I just zone out about it. Also it's all male human + female xenos at least for the first 25 chapters, so there's that. No descriptions of a female human wanting to ride that lizard dick
SMALL SPOILER
Or a male lizard being interested in a female that provides heat or even being threatened by a woman supplanting the male lizards role as heat provider in their culture. Like, okay horny post but do something with it in the narrative don't just drop it in there and do nothing with it.
Overall I would say it's an enjoyable story. There are some aspects of it that might drive off certain people, but I personally don't think they're enough to ruin the enjoyment the rest of the story provides. - MVVRoyal Road★★★★ 3.5So, this is a cute story.
Not something too complex or with great depths, just a little story to pass the time.
If it was a food, it would way above popcorn but not at the steak level, more like a good burger.
Post-scarcity Earthlings giving helping hands to downrotten and slaved aliens is not a novel concept, and the mixed couples are too forced into the story. Also , so far , I find a little naive the characterization of all Terrans as too good to be real. Greed may be vanished with a post-scarcity society but ambition , jealousy, xenophobia, ... all of that is absent without as much as a side explanation.
As for the quality of writting, there is not that many errors, but they are quite easy to spot and nothing a good corrector couln't fix in a few minutes. At least genders and past/present/future forms of verbs are OK, so I would give it a pass (native speakers may have a different opinion).
TD;LR : Good to pass the time, interesting story, I would target this for young adults. Will continue to read, even if I am way past that age bracket.
Give it a test, may be good for you.
