Description

He came prepared for the cold. Not for her.

Ex-criminal. Former soldier. Now just another body stuffed into the last outbound train from a country that no longer wants him. Charles boards the heavily-armored industrial crawler bound for a frozen borderland, on a journey where survival is optional and humanity is lacking. His cabin is a wreck — no lock, no heat, no light, no comfort.

That much, he expected. What he didn’t expect was the half-frozen girl, curled up and dying from hypothermia on the only usable bed.

Something about her — her presence itself — didn’t match the world she’s trapped in. Dressed as if she was plucked directly from a high-class ball, pale skin and silver-white hair too well kept for even the upper echelons of society, she looks like a fragile crystal sculpture carelessly tossed into an iron coffin.

As the train crosses a howling wasteland of ice and ruin, surrounded by hostile crew, violent passengers, under a system that guarantees arrival but not survival, and surrounded by a hostile environment where even the air itself is cold enough to kill, Charles wonders if it is even possible to keep both of them alive to the end station.

A slow-burn, psychological survival thriller set in a frozen dystopia. For fans of bleak futures, haunted silences, and strangers who are not what they seem.
