No one knew the end would have been biblical. But when the First Heralding struck us and the world died, I knew it was real then. And we were wrong anyway during the Second Heralding, starships, space elevators and corporations came tumbling from the sky.

The Cadre left it on the Third Heralding and poisoned my world. Bioweapons and ritual mixed into one, forcing my people to pray to the Black Moon and become part of their machinery.

I've come to find... even as a humble ecologist, that angels and demons are the same species. But, I don't know what I am. I don't think it's fully human.

The world suffered something, we keep losing concepts, the owls are gone and nano machines have partly replaced bees. I have a faint glimmer of hope in my hands.

But it's not enough to save the dying population of animals and their habitats, and I'm running out of time.

I guess I should tell you how I got here...
