Description
Arras has been born into a world of life or death, complex politics, and magic. Otherwise known as; Araia.Does he know, or even really care about any of this? No, at least, not yet. He just wants to live his life how he sees fit, and if that just so happens to be going along with what life has in store for him, who's to tell him otherwise? But, when he's separated from his family, things get hairy, and fast. When your future is clouded, and everything just around the corner seems about ready to turn you into breakfast, you need to fight to survive, all on your own... Or at least, that's what he'd think. One chance encounter flips his life around, and irrevocably alters his fate.Follow along Arras's journey as he is elevated from his station in life to one he's not quite sure he wants to have, but one he will find his way through regardless. Or well, he'll at least try. Though one things for certain, even with his aversion to the ridiculousness of the worlds way of life, he can certainly learn. What to expect-Not quite a "weak to strong" progression, but progression overall is important to the story.-fairly slow update rate, generally once per week, though chapters are long, being about 5k+ words on average.-M/F romance that isn't an insignificant part of the plot, but it isn't quite the focus either.-Arcs designed to cover a specific story beat during their run time.
-One consistent third person point of view on the main character, which occasionally switches to first/third person views of other characters. Additionally, the occasional intermission chapter will be placed inbetween chapters. Usually, intermission chapters will release with a chapter proper as well.-A bestiary/dictionary at the end of each chapter that will cover creatures/things mentioned in the chapter. This can be skipped with little to no consequence, only missing out on trivia about certain things and light foreshadowing.

- 2 Eyes of RedRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0A wonderfully executed story.
The main character, while rather young and naive, is not an idiot as many MCs tend to be. The storyline is well thought out and developed and the main character has a thirst for knowledge that I can appreciate and follow. While the story isn’t absolutely FOCUSED on growing like a bunch of those poorly written LitRPGs, the MC has natural talent and progresses as an explosive pace. Furthermore, the MC is a kitsune-like creature. I LOVE kitsunes ❤️❤️
The side characters have wonderfully developed, fleshed out characters and personalities with their own skill sets (the MCs not just dragging them along). There are suitable challenges and bits of humor mixed in as well.
The magical system that the author incorporated into the story is logical and well thought out, meaning each species has their own strengths and weaknesses. Humans are NOT the dominant species of the world imo, though I haven’t finished reading the story yet, I definitely will. In my humble opinion, many of the true jewels of royal road aren’t the LitRPGs but everything else. Of course, there’s still some good ones out there.
10/10 read, I definitely recommend it. ❤️ ❤️ ✨✨ 🤩 👍🏻 👍🏻 👍🏻 - AmbiAviRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0While starting off fairly slow paced, this story quickly picks up into an exciting tale of survival for our main protagonist in a unique and interesting world. With excellent worldbuilding and a simplistic but entertaining magic system, this story is a great read for individuals who prefer to really dig your teeth into learning all you can about a world. I've only read up to the fourth chapter as of this review and there are some things to question, but considering this is the second written original fiction the author has made, it more than earns its five stars at the moment.
- HallMonitorRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0Fantastic job so far and I'm looking forward to more.
Normally stories like these tend to have either far too much grinding or jumps right into being buddy buddy with people, but the author has done a great job doing neither. The story is planned out and the plot is interesting enough to leave me excited and looking forward to the next arc. The characters are not only believable but also consistent in their behavior and thought process.
If I had to pick something frustrating about the story, it would be that the chapters are a little slow to release, but personally I would rather have a slower frequency and higher quality than the other way around. The quality of the chapters are very good with minimal, if any, obvious grammatical errors.
I would definitely recommend giving the story a try if you like magical creatures and schemes brewing in the background. I'm looking forward to what happens in the future. - SkarabraeRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0I like this story quite a bit.
Style: I like this story's style a lot. It has literary devices, in particular a lot of imagery that helps with the story's tone and set various scenes within the story. The author has incredibly good word choice and is able to set the tone very well with it. The author's way of writing is also unique. And I can safely say that the tone fits the story perfectly.
Story: The story is great. it is paced at just the right pace. It develops at the right pace too. So, no complaints regarding that. The story itself is about a world where everything has magical powers. It focuses on a particular group of foxes with magical powers and the lives they lead. This premise is handled very well. Xenofiction is pretty rare in general and on Royal Road, and this is a stand-out example of it.
Grammar: I couldn't find any grammatical errors. That does not mean they don't exist, but if they do, they are most likely not distracting enough for most people to notice them.
Character: The characters are great. They are all well-depicted, realistic, and three-dimensional. The xenofiction elements are handled really well, giving the animalistic perspective the characters have. So, I liked reading about them quite a bit.
Overall, this is a very good story and I recommend it. - ASilverMothRoyal Road★★★★★ 4.5A very interesting story so far. Characters are well written (in my opinion. the world is detailed and feels active, and the magic system is very interesting. This story has kept me entertained and I hope to see more from this author. overall very good, looking forward to more chapters
- RavensFantasyRoyal Road★★★★★ 4.5Style/Story: First thing first style. This story has a non-human lead which was nice to read. The story does well to captivate the fox and its behavior throughout the chapters I read. Mind you I have only read through chapter three so far. Secondly, the story is in third person and is kept up on throughout the story. Thirdly, the overall use of descriptive within this story was done well. Considering this is a story about a fox, having those descriptive really helps tie in the story nicely.
Besides the normal base of the story, we also get a good chunk of information placed at the bottom of the chapters about things mentioned throughout the story. To me this chunk is a lot, if that is the right term I am looking for. As the information is useful but it is also a lot of information.
The story itself is based on a nonhuman lead that has the ability to use some magic and was overall a great read. There are some well described fight scenes throughout the story. In all, the story was well paced, flowed well, and a great read!
Grammar: I noticed very little to no grammar mistakes within the story.
Characters: There are a lot of characters at first. Which can be a bit overwhelming to try to remember all of the characters and their names. However, I will say I was able to distinguish between characters when reading dialogue and scenes. For example, Raiga and Arras have different personalities that show between their dialogue. In all, the characters are done well.
In Summary: In summary, if you are interested in a non-human lead that contains magic then check this story out!
