Description
Ancient legends tell of a time where magic was plentiful, gods walked alongside mortals, and monsters lurked in every shadow. A time of romance and a time of war. A time where empires stretched to the skies.
Arkk lives in far more mundane times. Residing within an obscure village in the middle of nowhere, he spends his days farming, hunting, and talking with anyone who happens to pass through, eagerly devouring as many wondrous stories as he can. His most adventurous days involve practicing magic, much to the chagrin of anyone in the vicinity. Poor and unskilled, only in his wildest dreams did he imagine leaving his small village.
While hunting with his childhood friend, they stumble across a band of raiders preparing to attack their village. Desperate to return in time to warn the other villagers, Arkk takes a shortcut through the Cursed Forest where nothing grows and nothing lives. Arkk had no reason to believe otherwise until he stumbles across ruins from an age long past and the monster hailing from the olden days.
A bargain is made. A deal is struck. Arkk didn’t understand the ramifications of his agreement or the enemies it would create. Nevertheless, he has always been one to take advantage of every opportunity. The ruins he found represent the opportunity of a lifetime.

- kaboomRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0Well written story, good gramar etc.
I really enjoyed this, sure it is a bit of a power fantasy, but the power increases decently gradually and when the challenges end the story ends. There is a decent amount of mysgeries all the way to the end
Not all the mc's actions are the most perfect, but they are rational in the context of who he is. He is cautious when he dosen't need to be, sometimes a waste sometimes great.
It is akcnowledged in the story that he is a country bumpkim and doesn't know everything. Which is great, but also a bit hard to believe sometimes given how competent he has to be.
It feels like the author tries to stay true to each characters internal logic.
There could maybe be a bit more interpersonal conflict, and maybe a few more competent male characters to make it seem a little bit more realistic. - CaerliWasHereRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0OMG wordsmith, you tick all my check boxes! At first I thought you went too fast, and missed some action, but you keep going , and action aplenty throughout!!! Love the growth, the world building, the characters. I don't mind the wide spectrum of interested females, while the one true love keeps dangling out if reach, keeping our interest.
Hope to read loads more <3 - bradyman50Royal Road★★★★★ 5.0I've only read the first twelve chapters so far, but I'm hooked. It reminds me a lot of reading Dungeon Keeper Ami. There are probably better examples, but thats what I kept thinking of as I was reading. So now I'm upset that I have to wait for more chapters, and upset that DKA never updates. I've been reading TowerCurator's work for almost a decade, Void Domain was one of the first web novels I ever read, and this might be my new favorite. I already love the characters and can't wait to see them all grow. Arkk isn't the all powerful, infallible self-insert that we've all grown tired of, but he isn't a useless weakling being carried by his followers either. He feels like a normal guy who lives in a magic world and wants to learn magic. Ilya is her own person with her own motivations, and a more fleshed out backstory than our MC. The rest of the village isn't made of one dimensional place holders either. And best of all, despite the church possibly becoming antagonistic in the future, Abbess Keena is a real person who helps them and doesn't assume that anything weird is an abomination that must be destroyed.
I didn't notice any grammatical errors and I love the story. I highly recommend this to everyone.
I suck at writing reviews, but those are my thoughts. Y'all should all read it and write better reviews than mine. I'm confident they'll be positive. - doomsdayrsRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0GOSH THIS WAS GREAT
Many stories with cosmic horror fail because they just try so hard to mimic a man who didnt understand math or science.
This story works, the descriptions of the characters and world is vivid enough I can imagine the characters as I read, while the world building isn't stretched so far that the world feels empty or half baked.
I genuinely enjoyer my time reading this, and I thank the author for making such a great story! - L1zar9Royal Road★★★★★ 5.0Easily one of the the best dungeon-esque stories I've read in ages, likely because it's equal parts dungeon and adventure in a way that many other stories kinda lack in. Very well written, solid characters and world building, and if you enjoyed past tower curator stories you'll likely love this as well!
- LovatRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0So uh this is my first one of these so I am not sure all the beats I am supposed to hit. Web fiction can be hit or miss. This hits. Assuming you like fantasy anyway. The characterization is decent the actions the characters take makes sense. The main character makes mistakes in the beginning but he is a rural kid with no sofistication. He is ignorant instead of stupid.
I think the plots are well written and enjoy reading it. Give it a try. - S1qwemRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0it’s worth reading. You should at least give it a try.
Writing style is good, world is different and creative, characters are generally more than just flat inserts. The story as a whole is very fast paced, and it’ll be interesting to see if and when it slows down and how the story goes once the plot stops jumping from the frying pan into the fire. I do hope that at some point the story does slow down slightly, there are a lot of characters who deserve a little more background and fleshing out. - VinRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0The overall summary is that it's a wonderful read. So far the character growth has a been organic and well placed. Overall there are certain characters that may need some polish but all significant characters are 3 D and doesn't feel like mundane copy paste in any form.
You should definitely give this a chance and read it. - WerotanRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0Many authors try to do system-less dungeon novel I've read two good ones and this is one of them.
There are faults in the pacing, those are small. This is one the greatest rags to richest dungeon master novels. The MC has one OP factor that has consequences and weaknesses. He acts human he's likable and relatable and for a good small town boy he's growth and maturity come at cost and adequate scars.
There is little cringe situations, larger that life characters, odd second fiddles and the mysterious background of the setting bring flavor and great taste to the prose.
Read this if you want to read a novel that threats the premise of your "average" Joe stumbling on a dormant dungeon core. The eldritch characteristics of the setting can be explained and substituted as average lay-man's reaction to magic as something other something that reason can't fully grasp. - KrinklesRoyal Road★★★★★ 4.5This story is fantastic and has incredible world building. I'm a big fan of the plot so far. The lore and magic usage are both really well explained, and magic doesn't feel like a constant plot device. As some have said, the pacing can be on the slower side at times but it's impactful and none of it is boring imo. It's a very rewarding story to read in that events take time to buildup to a satisfying resolution, even if it's not what you expect.
My only gripe with the story is probably the main character, who seems guided by an invisible hand and possessed with inhuman laser-like focus. Other characters are fine, but it doesn't always feel like he really builds emotional connections with people despite doing so on paper. He also constantly teleports himself and others unprompted which is maybe a bigger plot point than it should be!
It does feel like the scope of the story is almost getting too big for its britches at this point, but I'm very much looking forward to what's next from the author of this lovely story!
