For The Drop Of Blood

Description

Gods are real. All of them. Every Race and Species you ever dreamt of, or woke up screaming in fear of is real. All things that creak in the closet, breathe under the bed, and peer from the darkness are real. As is magic.

And all of that is very old news.

What isn't though is that someone or something started collecting heads of Gods and Demigods. Can a group of extremely morally compromised misfits brought together by a wish for atonement, love, the possibility of the huge payday, and good, old-fashioned revenge fix this, or just punt us into nothingness even faster.

Only one way to find out.

I've been reading this one for a bit after chapter 5 released but I've held off of writing a review because one; I'm extremely lazy and I haven't actually formed the words in my head enough to make it coherent and two; I wanted to wait a bit more for chapters to flow in to see where it's going
So far the wait was worth it. The premise of the story is good and the characters are pretty interesting, humane and pretty damned well believable. Their characterization well thought out and if I saw either one of them walking down the streets I wouldn't be able to tell them apart from any other person with how realistic they are
The whole wild west setting going on is a stroke (maybe a caress?) of deja vu for me, growing up reading a few books with the whole wild west backdrop, cowboys, sherrifs and all that, it's not something I've seen a lot in web novels (mostly been seeing them in old paper back novels like Trevanian's incident at twenty mile, lonesome dove and some more) it's refreshing to see someone pull up one of the good ol' classics and whack you with the crazy accent and goofy slang,  the mind muddling lingo, and absolutely confusion jargon that takes a while and an inch more to figure out if you're new to it
Though with all the good things I've said with the story and characterization I've some beef with the occasional typo and mistypes. sometimes even the way the words are bolded makes the character's conversations befuddling and it takes a few more re-reads to get the whole situation properly imagined inside your head, nothing a quick edit wouldn't fix but for people who absolutely cannot handle the occasional grammatical errors this must be a perfectionists' hiccup for you, calcium deficit people beware.
So far it's going well with how it's written I'm in suspense waiting for new chapters to release, I've recommended this to a few friends already and some are just about as blue balled as me whenever a chapter drops 😆
