Ehem. When I started reading the message I couldn't belive that I must write here so many useless words in order to appreciate this fine piece of literature. But you say ok and move forward.
1. Story. 5 stars. Even though it uses summoning hero cliche it still has a decont background. And what is more important it seems like the cliche plot is only an addition to the real one. I liked reading it. Story was interesting, maybe a little simple but still far more complicated than your average story. Hard to say in which direction the author will take it but I hope for the best. If the author will keep going like that I have nothing to add.
2. Characters. Yes. 4 stars. They didn't seem too complicated. There were few holes in their behaviour (I don't know if that was intended?) For example:
[spoiler]Jake didn't miss his foster parents and his "sister". You couln't see his shock and tension from things that happened in the demon facility. That kind of things leave their marks on the mind. On the other hand - it was Zero that was in control of his body after that events so maybe we simply didn't have any ocasion to see it. Second. After he was summoned to another world he didn't realy feel much shocked. Of course here you could blame it on merging Jake with Zeno. That could make him a little unbalanced and somewhat numb to the other changes. However normal people really feel bad for even the tiniest changes in their lives. Frightend by strange and unfamiliar world. It's putting a big strain on their minds. Third was his name choice but here also we could blame it on his strange state as a new entity.(Of course all of this might be intended by the author and I'm not telling him to change it - there are stories with light characters and those with heavy.)[/spoiler]
3. Grammar- I can't judge this sorry. I'm bad at english myself so I don't put there much attention. I can read it with ease so I will give here 4.5 stars.
