Description
[participant in the Royal Road Writathon challenge]
The year is 2202. Pandemics, apocalypses, demons, and nuclear war have ravaged the planet. Climate change has become nearly random. Forests have become desert. Tundra has become rain forest. The Amazon is infested with monsters. The world is split in a super power dipole in name only. The ten billion humans left on Earth follow whoever is closest at hand that can feed them.
Special Operative Iris Haber has become one of "America"s most important war assets : a human capable of entering radiation zones. The only organic parts of her left are her brain and her heart, easily shielded. The only land that matters anymore is farm land, and the only people who matter are the ones able to capture that farm land.

- LsshinRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0Post apocalyptic stories could be so repetitive at times, and yet here I am loving every chapter so far. I felt like tiktok for a second there. One second I was curious about the novel, and the next I was glued for 6 chapters unknowingly lol
Love how the action goes so fast while also jot loosing touch with proper descriptions. the dialogue among characters gives you a sense of their personalities on a fungshuei basis. Very natural, and very much on a need to basis.
The missions gives you a feeling of mini arcs and a feel of what the world is like. Which I love because it allows me to picture a sort of world map naturally.
I like world building around every mission, so it's not just go to x and do xyz, but more of a proper description of each scenery.
Trying to bribe the local in the cannabis farm mission did such a great job at depicting what the worlds current culture is like. I'm quite impress to actually see such proper dialogue.
Which brings me tk my favorite point: information by means of dialogue. Where I think most readers would agree that one of the most hated aspects of any novel are info dumps. To have a novel properly inform you while keeping a conversation and a story line going is to me very masterful, and something which I truly envy and wish I'd had that ability. - EiferRoyal Road★★★ 2.5I have a serious love/hate relationship with this story.
On one hand, the MC is, despite over a literal decade of war and fighting experience, someone with a over-idealistic hero complex and the inability to understand a trap or double-crossing.
On the other hand, the story progress didn't leave her much of a choice in the matter.
Adding to that, I came into the story expecting it to revolve around food wars etc and not what basically amounts to a inception level of government black-ops funded strikes with cookie cutter breadcrumb trails leading the reader to the inevitable climax of the story.
It left me feeling kinda flat on the whole thing.
Well, at least the combat was cool.
