The story is available in eBook and Paperback formats. It will not be stubbed for the foreseeable future.
Jakob was only seven when he was summoned to Helmsgarten’s sewers by the Fleshcrafter calling himself Grandfather. For seven painful years, Jakob studied the depraved craft of his monstruous mentor, before being let loose on the populace of the metropolis.
With the vague task of creating the ultimate being to rival the greatest creation of Grandfather, he is left with nothing but the flesh-stitched robes on his body and the loyal wight Heskel. Together, the pair explore a civilisation that is utterly alien to them, as they were both raised in the dark and damp of the city’s underbelly.
Along his journey, Jakob constructs many monsters and constructs, while dodging the noose of the guards and the Kingdom’s justice. He cavorts with demons and their spawn, joins the Adventurers’ Guild in his voracious hunt for knowledge, fights nightmares of his own creation, and parleys with Demon Lords and Great Ones.
Many who believe him a weak child suffer eternally for their arrogance. Even the Kingdom, with its inexhaustible wealth and power, rues the day it chose to cross the Fleshcrafter Boy and interfere with his great undertaking.
And in the end, even Grandfather must face the realisation that his creation is greater than he could ever have imagined.
I have plans to continue with a second book, so make sure tofollowmy profile if you enjoy the story.

- Big_BasRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0Don't get me wrong, this story has some of the most intense body horror on this site, but the author has you somehow empathising with and caring for the main characters who commit unforgivably evil acts.
I would highly recommend this, but definitely heed the content warnings for this one. - Bulimia4BooksRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0Actually don't know why there are any warnings. Nice carefree slice of life about a child who learns about the power of friendship.
Real talk made me cry. Maybe one of the best stories I've read. I'm so keen for the sequel but I felt complete at the end. Not satisfied I want more. But content to wait. - CentzuntlRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0Man, I wish I wrote stuff as original and good as this. Good characters, good plot, the writing kept me hooked the entire time, and contrary to many other novels, the ending left me satisfied! I also love that you keep the same central structure with other of your works, it makes for such a familiar world, yet still full of wonders!
- CpzombieRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0The MC starts off a naive child (albeit one raised by an unholy abomination, so people are just materials), but grows a lot over the course of the story (never stops being evil, don't worry).
The tags are definitely there for a reason, but it wasn't nearly as gross as I worried it would be. It does describe crafting glorious monstrosities out of human flesh, but it is never gross for the sake of it.
This is the kind of story you can't really say much about without spoiling it. Quit checking reviews and just read it, if you've made it this far without being scared off you'll probably love it. - DellahanRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0Wow, this story is absolutely stunning. I genuinely enjoyed every word of this book. The worldbuilding is IMMACULATE, giving just enough information to capture the interest of the reader while leaving enough secrets and questions to keep them wanting more. Each character was given such depth and context within the story that it truly felt like I was reading about actual people with fully developed lives and dreams, rather than two-dimensional fictional characters. While the main character is absolutely evil and a bad person for the horrific things he does in this book, the author does a terrific job of managing to make you root for him anyway. Not a moment passed as I was reading when I found myself bored or wishing this book was shorter. I can't wait to read the sequel when or if the author releases it. Often times I will not re read a book but this one definitely deserves it, plus I'd love to see the smaller details that were hinted at earlier in the book that I didn't realize the significance of until I went back and re read them after finishing the book. Apologies if this review is rambly, this is my first review on Royal Road so trying to stretch it out into 200+ words was a bit tough for me.
- DurrakonRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0I really generally don’t like this genre, overall I’m not really into gore and horror, I like gore and happy and romance, but once I started I couldn’t put it done, just binged this the past week. Some parts of the story seem pretty rushed but overall a great story.
- FetaMetaMannenRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0I was worried that we would get long descriptions of torture or similar when i read the description but so far nothing like that has happened.
It is a really good story about an awkward mc raised by a psycho in a sewer with zero other human interaction meeting an alien world for the first time and relating everything to his own extremely unorthodox upbringing.
There is plenty of gruesome murder, dont get me wrong.
And the MC is not a good person, but he is a well written and interesting character.
I will read the whole thing but i think the story deserves a boost so heres a positive review. 👍
The author is excellent and i hope to get more of his work in the future. - Greyman666Royal Road★★★★★ 5.0Horror, the Eldritch kind, fantasy, the growing of a numb teen, amazing overall.
The only thing you would be sad about is the kinda early finish. you had an amazing world. Go explore more of your craft, go to new countries, interact with new settings, and create new worlds. you could add so much more to this story than finish it in 80 chapters. But it was still Amazing and will read the rest of your novels if it has the same level of writing. - MistfireKnightRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0While not a particular fan of grim dark settings, I feel this story has been written very well. The characters have been fleshed out well and the propensity with which they get killed off, feels callous and cruel, fitting the story perfectly. This story matches well with the grim dark tag and even inspiring my own writing as the author captures a villains essence quite well.
- Nines41Royal Road★★★★★ 5.0I loved this story, it was one of the first novels i marked to read later on royal road, but I only got around to reading it in the past few days. Its a unique and interesting tale following a strange but well written protagonist.
My only qualms with the story is that the side characters and world feel a step down from the protagonist in their character and in the worldbuilding, pretty NPCesque, but I highly reccomend this story.
