Fate Points - (Stubbed)

Description
The first 100 chapters are not available to the public but are avaliable to patreon subscribers. They'll probably be published in october.
Future chapters are going to be published on the new story and penname. However for the month July that story will be behind the chapters posted here and I would prefer existing readers not to switch until august

The fate of humanity did not rest on Tom, but it sure felt like it. Then again, despite their numbers all the chosen felt the same way.
The trial, the tutorial, or whatever you wanted to name it, was over. After forty long solitary years spent mastering the system, Tom, with his abilities reset was going to have to do it all again to save humanity.
The cost of failure would have an unimaginable impact on his friends and family. His sacrifices had propelled him into the top million, giving him the opportunity to make a difference. And he had a risky plan to do so.
Against their will, humanity had been chosen, and all Tom could do was to work with the system.
Universe spanning gods ran a regular competition on a world called Existentia where they pitted seven species from different universes all of whom have dominated their home planet against each other.
But a straight-out fight would be too simple. Existentia is a living, breathing, impossibly large, magical world with existing empires, secrets, dungeons and trials. The seven races in the current iteration of the competition have their own unique advantages to exploit, but first they have to survive long enough to show their worth.
Fate points is a third person single POV litrpg with a unique system and mechanics and strong, complicated side-characters.
Note: This book in not quite a typical LitRPG. There is more to it than stats go up (but that happens). Various reviews have described it as verging more on the LIT (literarcy) side than the pure RPG perspective. The pace is also closer to Slice of Life than frentic progression and has light romance elements.

- theodiciesRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0This feels like a pretty unique take on several similar concepts. Tutorial followed by performing for a viewing audience. In this case the audience are GODs. The system mechanics are interesting and novel. The writing is good and flows well. The flashbacks are a bit much and some could be summed up with "I learned X during the tutorial". I'll be looking forward to each chapter!
- JoSorRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0I just couldn't let the many bad and in my opinion unjustified reviews stand and therefore created an account especially for my own review (sry for errors, I am not a native speaker).
I think the story is great. Of course there are some weaknesses, especially at the beginning, but the story has everything that excites me as a reader. Fate Points offers an interesting magic system, I like the character interactions that sometimes seem a bit over the top (it is explained by the story why) and the action sequences are written great, so that when reading in my head immediately a picture arises (like the rift dive, the colloseum etc.).
What I like best, however, is that there is conflict and challenge in the story. From the turmoil in the group when the Rift is discovered, to the serial killer plot, it's just refreshing to read a story where the main character doesn't immediately have the perfect solution for everything and also needs to rely on others for certain things.
Long story short: I would recommend Fait Points to anyone who likes Azarinth Healer or He who fights with monsters. I don't regret for a second following the story to this point and hope Allan perseveres and delights us with many more chapters. - Lucian T. EinarRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0Overall: Fate Points offers a refreshing take on the LitRPG genre, blending elements of strategy, action, and fantasy to create an intriguing story of humanity's fight for survival. With a compelling premise and well-developed characters, this novel keeps readers engaged from start to finish.
Style: The author's writing style shines in Fate Points, drawing readers in with a mix of cosmic horror, isekai, and psychological elements. The intricate world-building and unique system mechanics add depth to the narrative, making it stand out from typical LitRPGs.
Story: Fate Points follows the journey of Tom, a character with a strong sense of responsibility and a risky plan to save humanity. While the story starts strong, some readers note a shift in focus from community building to romance as the plot progresses. However, the compelling mystery and strategic elements keep the narrative engaging throughout.
Grammar: The book maintains a solid level of grammar and editing, allowing readers to immerse themselves in the story without distractions. Some reviewers mention occasional pacing issues and information overload, but these aspects do not detract significantly from the overall reading experience.
Character: Tom's character development and interactions with the diverse cast of side characters add depth to the story. While some readers find Tom's progression towards becoming overpowered a bit fast, his complexities and iron will make him a compelling protagonist. The supporting characters, while intriguing, could benefit from further exploration to enhance their individual motivations and contributions to the plot.
In conclusion, Fate Points is a must-read for fans of LitRPG looking for a fresh and immersive story. With its intricate world-building, engaging characters, and strategic plot, this novel offers a captivating blend of genres that will leave readers eagerly anticipating the next chapter. - Morris DarkstarRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0I'm enjoying this story. The MC has an interesting background. The setup is a 'do-over' story w/o it technically being a do-over. He spent 40 years alone to do as much as he possibly could to maximize his impact in the phase he is just now starting. Of course, 40 years w/o any human to talk to has left some scars.
- Polvane the EraserRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0Fate Points is a great story, full of interesting powers, world building, plots within plots, and betrayal.
Might be better read in a binge rather than chapter by chapter, though. Way too many cliffhangers. That's what you get when you have lots of people with their own agendas scheming with or against each other.
Note that the story begins after the Tutorial, so almost every character is already an expert with the System and with surviving on their own. It's the setting and the other people that screw everything up. - PunkyRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0I will not spoil anithing in this review and it's only my humble opinnion here .
I'm at chapter 22 , but the story is great . Starts a bit slow buy steady , the world build and characters are more then great . So far i'm more than happy and satisfied with the story, thank you for a great delivery ! I usually lurk on RR but the story is so good i had to make a positive review .
The chapter are long enough to keep you pressing next and the glow is great . In the begining it's a bit difficult to understand what's going on , but as the story go on you strat to get glimps of the plot .
I'm sorry for all the mistakes that i made in this review but english is not my first language and sometimes i make grammar and writing mistakes .
Thank you autor-san for a story that keep me reading . I hope i did a good job for my first review and i gived a small impulse to continnue this great novel , I know it's hard to ignore negative opinnions but you should do that , it's very easy to be a critic and a troll and it's hard to give a constructive critique . - Tharsis42Royal Road★★★★★ 5.0Very excited for how this story will unfold. There are extra plot layers to this system, integration compared to other books of the same genre that have kept me invested. Skills and system building are all interesting with many layers to it that will make each enemy they face a unique challenge.
- TheCrimsonFckerRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0This is a great read and if you like litrpg, post apocalypse, monsters, and magic it is right up your alley. The world building is creative, the characters nuanced, and the author has backbone enough not to cave to reader pressure to cut storylines short but rather let tension build. All in all, 9 out of 10. I only drop 1 point because I disagree with a couple character decisions / interactions (albeit I do not contest the author's right to write it however they want it).
- followthepyroRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0This book has excellent characters they seem real and have flaws to the point where you may not like some of the characters just like people irl. The world building is vast and we have only just gone beneath the surface iykyk. The magic system is gamey without distracting from the plot. Overall an excellent read for those who love litrpg.
- svartalfRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0This is hands down my favorite story currently on royal road. The characters are believable the system is understandable, the power progression is both measured and balanced long term growth vs immediate impact. The story contains a few small mistakes that don’t detract from the flow as they are very minor and the dialogue is clear on who is speaking.
I cannot recommend this story enough to anyone who is a fan of fantasy LITRPG.
