Summary: A street urchin kid gets an invitation to hogwarts. Watch as most of the problems that Harry had faced are solved by cussing people out or punching them in the face. Or by just having a brain.
This is much more than just a typical power fantasy or a re-telling of the same old plot points. The main character is so unique that it feels entirely fresh and tells a story of its own right. 10/10 would recommend (provided you appreciate impressive uses of profanity haha).
I especially appreciate how the MC does his own thing and makes his own friends rather than latching onto Harry Potter.
Style:
I absolutely cackled at several points through the story. Storytelling absolutely keeps my attention. The style is great!
Story:
This is a very unique twist on the standard plotline. Just by introducing a character like the MC with equal parts common sense and paranoia, the problems get resolved in new and unique ways.
Grammar:
The grammar was perfect. No issues.
Character:
Probably the best part of the novel. Every character is packed with personality, and I love how the MC grows through the book. My all time favorite character is even a new side-character student.
Conclusion:
It's good, read it!

This is one of the best harry potter fan fics I've read in a long time. The grammar is perfect. The story flows naturally and doesn't feel forced in the slightest. By far the best part is the main character, Flynn is such a unique and interesting protagonist. The way he is written makes him feel like a actual person rather than a cardboard cut out. Overall it is a amazing fic which I highly recommend reading.

This is one of my favorite Harry Potter fanfictions and it only has 29 chapters, it's awesome.
The mc is a guy who grew up in tough conditions (worse than harry) but decided to toughen up and be a better man
He is a Slytherin (fitting) and while he is the mc of the book he isn't the mc of the universe (I like this a lot)
The summer subplots are one of my favorite things since it shows a lot of the mcs personality and background
One of my least favorite things in this is the horrendous chapter updates (bassicaly when the author remembers he has a book but then forgets again after writing half the chapter) and another bad thing about it it's the bad time management like fr? From the start of the second year you didn't have any time to practice a non class spell? In fact even the book specifies he spends most of his time alone so what tf does he do?

This story is amazing.
The grammar is impeccable, the pacing is fast enough that it doesnt bog you down too much and the main character Flynn is just so much fun to follow.
He's written as a delightfully flawed individual and following his interactions with (very well written) established characters is genuinely funny and entertaining.
The author has knocked it out of the park with this and I was devastated to finish it so quickly. I will be following this closely and can't wait to read more.
I read alot of fiction (probably too much) and this is one of the best ive read in a very long time.
Read it already.

This is one of the best written HP fanfics, but seems to have been abandoned (51d w/o updates) fairly early in the timeline (it stops at the beginning of the 2nd year/book roughly). Still, there is about as much here as a traditional novel, so it's worth reading.
It's a little hard to wade thru at first bcz the MC is so defensive and jaded due to his background, but it's one of the few stories where the MC actually acts like they've lived the crapsack backstory. It gets easier to read quickly, and actually is pretty cute later on.
There's a **lot** of really, really terribly written hp fic out there, and a few good ones. This is one of the good ones, imho.
This is actually a CYOA-style from another site (see author notes later in the story). I'm not a huge fan of those as it's "pantsing by committee" and the impulsive/random reader choices often cause the author to write themselves into a corner, maybe? idk. Still, I would not have guessed it was one if the author hadn't mentioned it, so I can't complain.
I hope the author continues to write (this, or whatever else they choose)!
