Fallen Lotus: The Legends of Xiao Xue
Community Rating
Description
Aeons passed in this primal realm.
Great empires rose… And fell.
Divine beings of unimaginable power battled tirelessly.
Plotting and scheming with inhumane ferocity.
Swathes of destruction rose in their transient wakes.
The blood of the innocent pooled as immortal lakes
They ruled these primordial lands, where the brave – or the foolish – go to test their prowess.
.
.
.
Xiao Xue didn’t seek much.
Carefree as a wild ant thrush,
A simple existence in quietude should have sufficed.
But the schemes of the ancestral divinities would not permit such.
Xiao Xue now walks down a bloody path,
Fraught with wrath. With pain and mindless bloodbaths.
This is the tale of a reincarnated pacifist…
Going. Rogue.

- BlazethefrenchDRAGONRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0All-around awesome story. I can only recommend it.
Grammar almost flawless, pacing is great and the few characters I have seen are well fleshed out.
Whats even better, the world-building looks well-thought out.
The main character is likable and in "3D", not like the usual MC. He is plagued by endless curiosity, but is visibly held back by his innate laziness. - Blenderman256Royal Road★★★★★ 5.0First of all. I rate this novel a solid 5/5.
This novel is well built, it has interesting world building and the MC is pretty interesting. This novel has a good mix between action, interaction, and accurate Chinese mythology. The main reason for me that this novel has such a higher rating is because of one thing.
From what I have seen so far I expect this novel to have an amazingly developed cultivation lore with a lot of 'dao' and nuances. The MC has already been given an affinity early on. We get that at the start, and that it is mind boggling for a novel of this genre. This novel overall is still amazing and man the author really knows how to turn on the pressure. It definitely is an exciting novel and I hope that you will check it out - BrianhonderstheGOATRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0I started reading this as I was bored, but I was later really surprised. The mc is relatable and quite comedic. He doesn't try to be anything he's not, as he is too lazy and laid-back. His decisions make sense and he’s not twisted like other MCs would be in a new cultivation world. He kinda reminds me of Gintoki from Gin Tama or Saiki from the disastrous life of Saiki K. Not a lot of chapters thus far but good.
- David of nobody landRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0Up to chapter 4: I’m in a trance...
I can say that this xanxia is probably the more “accomplished” story since I begun reading chinese novels.
This story is incredible! After having read this story, I can only lament how bad, simple and childish are all the other xanxia.
The storyline is incredible deep, worked, and well written.
The author knows where his story goes and he carries his work confidently.
It's definitely a decent read. - LordHADESthethirdRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0I have been reading Light Novels for a some time and is currently read over 40 light novels and I have to say, this is one of my favorite light novels.
This is a masterpiece, at least till where I've read. The characters are well developed and the storytelling is at a good pace.
Definitely worth reading! - PelzyManeRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0"Fallen Lotus: The Legends of Xiao Xue” is one of the best novels I have read all year. Although, there are currently only three chapters(two if you exclude the rather detailed prologue), each chapter opens and closes very intriguing entries that are both unique and clever.
Brief Summary of Book
From what I can deduce, “Fallen Lotus: The Legends of Xiao Xue” appears to be a moderately-paced novel that combines the best elements of action, suspense, thrill, comedy and drama. The author is so good at character development, that each fictional characters are both fascinating and memorable(even that lazy, back -stabbing, useless grunt that was only mentioned in about four lines[I won't drop any names. Not sure if those count as spoilers]).
It is a story written with knowledge of true fiction, realistic characters you want to root for and gut-stirring mystery; with a satisfying cliffhanger after each chapter is always leaving you anticipating more.
This novel is an generally an enjoyable read. There are several sub-themes woven into the primary setting of the novel. Poignant yet comedic. The author’s style is charismatic and entertaining, with just a hint of self-indulgence. There are numerous twists and turns and unexpected events occurring to put suspense in the story. The author beautifully plots the novel and injects the new characters timely which makes it the most entertaining read.
I highly recommend this book to anyone who is a true literature enthusiast. It looks to be a promising investment of both time and effort. - PoweredBYDoughnutsRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0Great story, less filler both in word count and characters are well done, good grammar, and an exciting premise. The dialogue does a good job explaining the plot/setting the premise.
The side characters do have depth to them, even with the few chapters uploaded.
All in all, this is an excellently written xianxan novel.
I want MOAR!!! - Raven_AelwoodRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0While its a little early to review the plot, we seem to be jumping into it with minimal filler and there are signs that its been considered before hand. The setting seems to be 'generic cliche xianxia land' with the twist being a lazy, pacifist main character; its a fun twist in the genre which is fairly underused and looks like it will be very entertaining. Same catagory as Beware of the Chicken but going in a different direction.
Style and Grammar 5/5
The style has a nice flow with excellent word choice, giving it a polished feel. As with the style, the grammar is quite good with no obvious issues so far. Grammer is great. I didn't notice any issues and the prose flows well.
Story 5/5
It’s too early to tell much about the story, but the hints shown so far are intriguing. It starts out quite causally diving into an action packed scene, the prologue ending in an unexpected twist.
The second scene sets up nicely with the author giving us more insight into the main character's nature. At the end of the second scene we are left with even more questions than answers, teasers to a much more intricate plot lying beneath the surface.
The concept itself, the idea, is absolutely sold on anyone who knows anything about cultivation novels.
Character Score 5/5
The main character is a seemingly lazy, happy - got lucky pacifist who has new expectations and challenges suddenly thrust upon him. It is too early to know too much about his character, but so far he seems to just be your average pessimistic, pretty laid-back dude. In all he is a very relatable character.
Prose
The prose is fantastic. It will probably go in the same direction as Beware of Chicken, Virtuous Cultivation, and Qi = MC^2 (emotion wise, as in, strange earthling in a weird world of Chinese magic).
It gives me the safety of familiarity and novelty of a unique twist on an old genre.Well written, fun and subversively funny.
I can't wait to read more! - The forth River dragonRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0A blooming flower amidst piles of cow dung; clouds compared to mud; simply put, the difference between Heaven and Earth.
I’m new to the Xianxia theme novels, and honestly the numbers of novels that I’ve read are very few, it’s so few that it didn’t exceed the number of my fingers. Despite of that I can tell that is FLTLOXX is moving to be really exceptional among many chinese mythology based web novels.
lots of promise in this one... looking forward to seeing more. - ValascottRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0This might just grow to become one of the best stories I've read in a while. Mostly because the world is motioning to be so vast yet described so well. Usually when authors try to create a vast world it feels very lacking due to bad writing. It feels similar to causalfarmer's Beware of Chicken. The characters seem very likeable. The MC isn't your average xianxia as*hole MC. This guy is rational, comedic and relatable.
The lore is clean and the plot so far has been very good so far (even though we are only four chapters in).
Sticking around to see where this goes and will try to update the review as I get to read more of the book.
