While the story is still only in thr first fivr chapters, the world itself is fascinating. The rules of faerie coming up against the prejudices of the human world is so interesting, especially when yiu consider the main character is technically of both.
Also the fact that the main character is trying to save the human delegation while they are trying to look down on her is such an interesting touch because it feels quite clear that the members of her household would be perfectly alright with the humans being left to fend for themselves.
There is also the mystery of the secret admirer but I really enjoy that it's (currently) a small piece of everything going ok in Alessa's life.
Also really enjoy how smooth this world building is and the way it sets everything up.

Having read this author's work before, I was prepared for excellent characters, wonderful interpersonal dynamics, and en engaging story.
I was NOT expecting a totally original world that seems to have been pulled straight from my personal wishlist of things I love to see in fiction.
I already adore our main female lead (and cannot wait to meet her aunties and uncles).
This seems to have a general office background but at this point I cannot tell if the slice of life aspects will be on the human side or the fairy side of the "Veil". To be quite honest, I trust the author and her skills to pull off either one.
I am super curious how else the "changeling" aspect of this story will be played out, as the circumstances of Alessa's mother indicate that while cross-breeding is not possible, things aren't so cut and dry as "humans mundane/fairies magic."
Also I know this is an advance review but I am alreadt fully prepared to cut a bitch for Alessa. Her bosses did not treat her right and I cannot WAIT to see them get their comeuppance in excruciating social faux pas and potentially more material ways.
I have no idea what kind of update schedule we are looking at for this one, but I could gobble up 100k of words in this universe and still happily come back for more.
