Evolution Cubed - [Monster Progression LitRPG]

Description
When bandits attacked his village and killed him along with everyone he loved, Alex gets disposed into the body of the weakest monster: a slime.
Trapped in the dungeon where all the world’s worst monsters are locked away in, Alex must deal with a System that seems to have hidden plans for him. All because he accidentally touched a fancy demon rock. But he won’t let that stop him from making the most of this second chance.
He’ll escape the dungeon, track down the bandits, and exact vengeance, all while throwing a middle finger to the System.
What to expect from this novel:
- A main character that learns and adapts as he progresses through the dungeon, with a semi-stable morality
- A clear magic system with multiple facets that get revealed through the course of the series
- Making friends (?)
- A human MC who's trapped in a slime body
- Exploring-a-dungeon style story, but eventual outside world development
-Chapters of anywhere from 2k-3k. Will try to aim for an average of around 2.5k, but there will be some slightly longer chapters

- Dragon_ANGLRoyal Road★★★★ 3.5Not much to see at the time of this review, only 7 chapters in, but what there is, is interesting. A D&D-esque Ooze, rather than Dragon Quest Slime, the former being far less mobile (more of a 'fall down from the ceiling and engulf a foe' predator). Still, we have heirarchies of monster families, odd monster interactions, and a demonic deity / archdevil rather than a standard "greater good" deity, along with odds and ends of human lore interacting with magic, so it seems promising for the long run.
Looking forward to how it progresses! - milkman7121Royal Road★★ 2.0Concept was not bad, and the plot seemed decent. But the stakes and the power level of the MC continuously escalated to the point where, 10 chapters in, the MC got space powers and told off god. Add to that an incomprehensibly powerful side-kick that could solve any issue the MC comes across and some frankly incomprehensible character choices on the part of every major player introduced post-reincarnation (not a spoiler that's in the blurb), and the story just immediately topples over past it's admittedly promising beginning.
- Eternal CircleRoyal Road★ 0.5Trying not to spoil anything, so far characters seem to do / be able to do whatever is convenient for the plot, with little / no regard for things like "common sense". While written decently, no major errors, certain rules being created seem to exist at some points, but are thrown out entirely for spectacle at others. The style of writing isn't all that good either, with what started as a metaphor somehow turning into a vision partway through, as an example, and some features and descriptions existing one moment to be redescribed as different later for no particular reason.
I would advise against reading this novel.
