- rejndzer87Royal Road★★★★★ 5.0A well-executed time-loop story, with a protagonist who is by no means perfect, but always tries his best. He is very aware of the pitfalls of his powers, and has a well-developed relationship with them.the supporting cast is decently written, and the world-building isn't crazily extensive, but is sufficient for a good story. I'm not sure about pacing, because I was reading it as it was being published, so you'll just have to judge that on your own. A good read - solid recommendation
- BlackwatchRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0Excellent book loving it so far. I will definitely keep reading I, haven't been able to put it down sense I started and I will be following the author as this story continues. I'm looking forward to the next chapter so I can find out what going to happen next.
- CalaventeRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0Second Opus of a serial reincarnator.
I've seen him as a bumbling conquering barabarian.
I've seen him as a wise "adventurer" appearing in another's Character's story
I have great hopes to see him grow from one to the other.
It'll be once again, I'm guessing, a great world, with an original growth system.
let's discover worlds and have adventures !
Let's take a guess about MC's number of deaths for this story .... ;)
I propose 12.586 (not counting that time where he'll choke on a fishbone)(12500 being done voluntarily). - GopardRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0I think the biggest kicker about this story for me so far is that it is part 2... Basically I binged the first part of this grander series (About a guy who insults god and consequently keeps reincarnating in endless living torture I think this much shouldn't be too much of a spoiler hopefully) and absolutely loved it! In itself that story had a great narrative, super interesting worldbuilding and characters...
However with this Part 2 now... Not only is the worldbuilding for "Everrain" already super unique and interesting, if you connect it to the other story it promises a sort of "Double narrative world building" which is actually very unique as a story approach even on RR were it feels like everything has been done and figured out sometimes.
The MC in my opinion is just as interesting here as he was then so far... Side characters and in world lore+Plot are also shaping up to be super interesting!
And the only thing I really noticed was that where the other story still had kinks, and some akward phrasing (as you would expect from a less experienced author) this I haven't notice those here yet.
This is actually a deep story, which has big elements of beautiful romance and tragedy but is also not overly saturated with them such that you feel the author is beating us in the face with "This is what this story is" every other paragraph. At the same time, I absolutely found myself connecting to the MC and even most side characters nothing Cardboard about any of them that I found.
And last but for me personally one of the biggest positives about this story: Though the MC does have power progression and does fight (and consequently kill) alot, the morality of that is there, its explored, the MC is infact a person and not either a one track adrenaline/Power/Progression junky or a murderhobo just out to slaughter everything "in his way".
So yeah I can absolutely recommend this story and also to check out the part one about his "first reincarnated life". - Mr BookRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0This book is definitely one of the better ones of the genre. It's got pretty much what you would expect from the genre and summary with some interesting uniqueness. It's really nice to see an MC that actually takes advantage of the system mechanics and comes up with ways to make it work for them.
- SkyBlueFlashRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0Great book, I devoured it over a weekend and a few days. It was only after the epilogue that I found out that there is a previous that feeds into it. I think I'm going to read the next book before going back to the original. Guess it's kind like fate points this way.
- Tweaker TyroneRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0Snappy, punctuated sentences make the book detailed and allow for more exposition. It's written in first person so you can really zoom into Griff and his reasons for doing certain things, as well as allowing the author to add subtle details and foreshadowings in the background in Griffs(and therefore the readers') blindspots.
The story is really well structured and the pace never gets boring - there are slower moments sprinkled in but as far as I could tell not one scene was irrelevant to the overarching plot. No grammar issues whatsoever and the prose is in no way overbearing.
Griff(or Aang) himself is unique. It's not his first life and certain mannerisms have clearly followed him. Decided against continuing to read Angry Reincarnation due to the repetitive sexual content(which I personally dislike, but you may check it out to see if it's for you, review stays 5 stars since that has no bearing on this story). Blunt adds depth to his character and is often used as a way to simplify his thinking to the reader, Griff is also very willing to learn and will not shy away from doing what he thinks is necessary to reach his goal of reuniting with his beloved, however flawed said actions may be.
One thing the novel does really well is being able to read it without prior context. This is a loosely related sequel to the aforementioned Angry Reincarnation, but it was my first time reading the author's work and I had no issues reading it and didn't even know this till the very end, so honestly just give the first 20 chapters a read - hope you enjoy as much as I did - chvor64Royal Road★★★★★ 5.0The second book brings Aang to a dystopian post-apocalyptic world with an interesting (to me, unique) ecology. The aptly named Everrain is a world under constant rainfall, that slows a little during the day and intensifies a night. And it's not just the rain, the author shows how the ecology works as the story progresses. Although not the main point of the story, it is a great setting and quite refreshing when most authors would go for the usual fantasy world. The constant rain fits with the dystopian setting as well, and there are some subtle hints because of that, if you look closely.
Our protagonist gets thrown in the body of a herbalist dude who was just about to get burned on the stake but happily his heart gave out before the fire could overcome the evening rainfall. Then Aang enters the scene and soon we have a punched to death priest...
There are some more tropes that are artfully used and abused -- dungeon dimensions, the inquisition, corrupted religion, lost sanctuaries and so on.
Aang grows as well, not only learning magic, but coming more to terms with his unique power.
All in all, a great second book and I can't wait for the next one! - durintordeRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0TL;DR - great 44 chapters so far, awaiting more eagerly.
So far i enjoy the story a lot and can't wait to see how it will develop. It follows an interesting mc that is "op" but not that op that he just destroys all obstacles in his way
Characters are interesting -
though i would also love to see a male side character joining the mc the current party has my interest. Both our main character, the teacher, and both new additions to the story.
I would love to expand more on them and to have them more fleshed out - but right now it's early on and i already see signs of this happening
I haven't noticed any issues with grammar so far, though if i did they were so minor I didn't notice while reading. The writing style generally uses low-medium level of english with sprinkles of high english. It makes it quite a joy to read and easy to just fall into a trance reading.
I wonder how the story will develop -
There are some lore dumps, and some fast paced that might slightly be better constructed - but its beyond my ability to say how such a thing can be done
I enjoy the style of the story, though i dont really have something to say on the topic - Azeron_mk_01Royal Road★★★★ 4.0the story has decent writing and tells the story it wants to...but does feel a bit rushed in a few spots and given it is a time loop story I am glad that it did actually end the way it did even if it wasn't what I was expecting .
