Etherial Adventurer [Adventure LitRPG]
Community Rating
Description
Humanity as a civilization and species has come very far compared to the time they only inhabited a single planet. The reason? Humanity has long since been completely integrated into the Intergalactic Society (IGS), hundreds of thousands of years ago to not be exact.
Over this long stretch of time, technology and society continued to develop, with its ups and downs, until in the cycle 745 of the IGS Universe Calendar, where the Universe finally reached the necessary ether density to awaken a bringer of extraordinary changes, the Ether Law.
Amidst the gargantuan IGS spanning tens of galaxies, Rune is only a good-standing galactic citizen living a peaceful life on a rural planet with his family. And when the previously unimaginable changes start to happen, his heart tells him it was something he had waited for, for a long time.

My first serious attempt at being a webnovelist.
It ended up being relatively successful if you forget about the early cringe parts.
Objectively, though, I was too ambitious and didn't have enough experience to start with this story.
If you want to read because you really ran out of other novels, you better brace yourself for dozens of chapters where I struggle before it becomes more exciting.

Chapters: Around 3 000 words each.
Update: It's dropped duh~
Of course the title isn't miswritten~ It's Etherial, not Ethereal. A serial killer, not a sereal killer. It's controversial, not controverseal. Quintessential, not quintessenteal my dears.

- XanaRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0I love that it's not conflict driven. The world building is amazing it feels like an actual world and having a balanced character that doesn't break everything and anything is a joy. A character that can act within the rules of the world is such a rarity. Having good fleshed out and maintained side characters is another joy. The pacing could be faster but I enjoy the endless world building personally I think it gives the story more depth and room to build on.
- baelrathRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0Slow and Steady. Not fast paced, 95% solo MC POV. LitRPG elements are there, but due to the S&S nature of story, not overbearing. No Blue Screens.
Not a lot of dialogue, mostly inner monologue. This is mostly a theory crafting, solo exploration grind as a System happens and one persons goal to explore and understand begins. You could almost call this a Min/Max LitRPG thought project. Group elements happening more at 40-50 onward chapters.
At 50 chapter mark, its finally getting to the meat of it all, the good stuff. I'd call the preceeding chapters the Tutorial.
Lots of world building, more so happening in the later 40-50 chapters.
One could note that some of the earlier writing could be called overly wordy and confusing as its describing the System and world building. But as long as thats not too much of a hang up to you, skim it, as its either not relevant or will be explained in normal speak later on via the MC.
I do like that the author takes the time to show how far reaching and broad something like this would be, whilst not really affecting our MC at all. Some could call that unnecessary writing, but i think overall it adds to the depth and scale of something this size. - AzralRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0The story has really in depth characters and world tons of character and world building going on and it's generally just a great story overall definitely like the author says it slowly builds To points of Fun and interest will also allowing the reader to associate with the many characters in the book I think it's one of the best books I've Read on Royal road in a while. Keep the book going and I hope for 6k chapters... OK maybe too much typing for me but I can hope. Lol
- CristianBoyRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0If you are looking for something to read that's litrpg-ish and chill, without having to worry about enemies and big bad guys ruining everything (i sure am cuz there are enough stories full of drama and stress and overarching plot, those are good too but sometimes u need to sit back, relax and just read) this is your story. 8 chapters in and i LOVE IT,it's exactly what i didnt know i was looking for for the past year.
Edit《》after reading more of it,most of the concerns of people were answered
The part about no actions is quickly rectified, the part about no risk too is quickly resolved,so you can stay safe, this novel WILL have action and risk, just toned down a little from all the usual litrpg novel here. - VivoparaleerRoyal Road★★★★★ 4.5Not gonna lie did learning that it got dropped bothered me? YES it did, more than I would like to admit but it's the thruth, do I agree with all the errors that the writer mention? Why yes I also agree, infact some of them you could already noticed them from the early chapters, do idea #1 and #2 that the writer added at the last episode call my attention? You can bet your sweet pipi they did, did I write all this to make a point of some sort? No, this a rant plain and simple.
- claws8367Royal Road★★★★★ 4.5You read the other reviews and are not sure to pick this up. Then let me help you.
+ Chapters are big
+ power creep is very well handled.
+ the main selling point: its realistic, that we can almost perfectly relate to the mc.
+ mc has to work for those gains & and you will read all of it. In a way we are the ones doing work.
+ The setting of the story, makes it so that society and mc have different set of morals then ours currently. One that i hope we are all working towards.
- i like it, but it's not for everyone: its slow paced and goes into how things work. Which is sometimes more preferable then "it just works"
- this is not mc dominating everyone, this is the mc doing his own thing at his pace. Sometimes that means he's a front runner, other times it means he falls behind.

The story is relatively slow, especially at the beginning and take around 50 chapters to get going but its really well thought out and strike a good belance between character powering up and civilization expanding in the new reality.
The magic system is well thought out and favor a stedy progression overtime, it leave room for a lot of intersting builds and at the same time remain simple.
I found no problems with grammar and writting style. - Natasha Velkirk (Zach or Zach)Royal Road★★★★★ 4.5I have one major complaint, that being the fact that the just reading the story feels off.
The reason for this is that the author writes very strangely, not as though they don't know english well, but the choices of what words to use and where are just strange. I think that the author has done this purposefully...? Like, just 'cause? Not really sure, and it's not particularly unpleasent to read, but it is kinda strange.
Some funky choices on sentence structure that feel purposeful. Not sure how many are grammatically incorrect but reading them is just weird, otherwise it seems like a fun adventure with a mostly light-hearted tone. - Arka Ie LaqRoyal Road★★★★★ 4.5A story with a tutorial that went a bit too long if only because it was more tell and not show.
A nice way to spend my spare time if it's continued with its premise of unending adventure, maybe with the mc conquering the eclipse acardia by surviving it buck naked as the climax?.
I don't think the MC's tertiary specialization is needed since he never ended up on the tier 5 density gravity anomaly lmao
Good build on the his part however, solely focusing on surviving all the absurd environments the endless dimension has certainly worthy enough for the build of an adventurer
Rework/rewrite when? (I'm not joking, I'll even accept even if it's tfc that's going to get it) - sleepy_hikerRoyal Road★★★★★ 4.5This is a very chill fantasy with a world that has just gotten a litprg System and fantasy elements. The world-building is very extensive, which makes it easier to imagine and better in my opinion. Especially, after chapter 50 a new place is introduced which can be expanded infinitely, makingit easy to avoid the "going to a bigger and better world/dimension after a power-up" trope.
The story is very slice-of-life, which I personally really like. Moreover, I like that there is no urgency and that the MC isn't a hero who has to save the world, contrarily he is an average citizen who is somewhat stronger than the general public. His social skills are worse than average, which helps in making him feel real, though some of the lesser characters can seem too simple and one dimensional.
However, in some places the writing is harder to understand, though it has gotten better with the later chapters. Also, I think sometimes there is too much math involved, which breaks the immersion.
Overall, I quite like this story, and will probably add it to my favorites. Also, if someone doesn't like world-building or wants a fast-paced story, I wouldn't recommend this to them.
