Description
Power comes at a cost.
Are you willing to forsake your current self for power?
Hope was born to restore the Fallen family’s glory, his very name a burden he could never escape.
But when he discovers an ancient cultivation manual in his father’s study, he sees a path to true power—one beyond limits.
There’s just one price: his emotions.
At fourteen, he hesitates, torn between the remnants of his heart and the promise of strength.
But in the end, power wins.
With his humanity fading, Hope steps beyond his family’s grasp and into a vast, unforgiving world—one where only the ruthless survive.

- Briareus the GardenerRoyal Road★★★★★ 4.5The author clearly has a plan for what they're writing, and they've managed to make the dead-eyed emotional husk that is their protagonist engaging despite that handicap.
As far as criticism, I do think that the prose could be tightened up in some places, and the author could stand to add more moments where the narrative steps outside of the protagonist's numbed perspective - the moments where they do are quite good, and might help balance things for readers who aren't as amenable to a main character with this amount of emotional deadening.
I wouldn't say that it's the best xianxia story I've found on the internet, but it has a lot of potential, especially with how it makes use of its structural ideas like 'intents'.
