The novel's a litrpg set in a fantasy world that actually has characters at the peak of the worlds power level, wauw.
Our MC is a logical, chaotic... lawful(probably?) old soul who got stuck in a skeleon in his attempt at obtaining immortality. The novel starts a bit slow with MC being re-introduced to the world he once lived in, but has now changed drastically since then.
The side characters are plentiful and play important roles. The vast majority of these characters have their own distinct personalities and ambitions, and I like the way its done from the narrator's perspective, rather than 1st person POV's I've seen quite often.
The world is introduced mainly through the MC, as he learns things so do we, and sometimes through the plans and plots that side characters cook up in their secret chambers. The world is divided into kingdoms and guilds and whatever hasn't been introduced yet, ruled by "ascendants" who seem to be at the peak of world.
The novel has a decent bit of comedy to it, and the humor hits well thus far. Some slight references, some disses here and there - chuckled quite a bit at those - but its important to mention that its clear there is a grim air around this fanasy world. I wouldn't say the novel will turn grimdark, but the MC doesn't shy away from murder and has no qualms about killing in general, and while he does seem to "respect" some self-imposed boundries, I feel his enemies might regret tangling with him further down the road.
The grammar does have some minor mistakes here and there, but so far I've had no issues at all understanding what's what and who's who. Its still very clear.
With all that being said, I recommend you give this novel a go. It gets better the further you go. - LatentTalentRoyal Road★★★★ 4.0I've just spent the last week reading the 93 chapters.
It's an enjoyable story that is focused on an undead called Bones. The side/support characters have their own characteristics and are unique and fleshed out. There is a lot of potential for this story going forward. I do think though that the MC character needs to be challenged a bit more and take a while to overcome the obstacle (similar to the Widow Queen).
I'm happy that not every page contains level up (skills/character) stats, makes it easier to enjoy the flow of the story. - HickupsRoyal Road★★★★ 3.5Man this story got soul!
But before I extoll it's virtues I have to say the technical aspects of this story are currently pretty dismal. The author has a lot of groundwork left to do regarding vocabulary and quite some grammatical kinks to work out. There are downright confusing text blurbs, redundancies, incorrect word usage, missing articles and other issues. On the bright side, however, most of the time they get the meaning across.
If you brave the rough writing you will be rewarded with an incredibly entertaining tale of the (criminal) adventures of an elderly, amoral, excentric mage who, through magical mishaps, has literally become a bag of bones.
The story is very fast-paced with comedic tones. But while most matters are handled rather superficially there is an ongoing greater chain of events the protagonist will have to either coast through or take part in. As such, the future seems to hold a decent amount of intrigue, maybe some politics and plenty of combat for the opportunistic undead.
There have been few side characters of note and they mostly serve to give the reader context and exposition but there is a lot of potential. It's obvious the author has clear roles in mind but I do expect some twists, since they have shown that their characters hold complex motivations.
While it's a LitRPG the system has been exceedingly simple and overall with little mysteries but it's quite possible for that to change once the subject of 'Ascendance' is delved into.
Overall, I recommend this for anyone looking for an easy read to spur their own imagination.
I am very much looking forward to see where this all goes and have no doubt that it will draw a great audience once the author polishes his skills.
Thank you very much for sharing your first work on rrl! - Tender57Royal Road★★★★ 3.5The story feels a little bare bones. Semi generic. More detail could be added about what his skills look like and the clothes be is wearing. Just wasn't feeling it.

His past life plays little to no role. His whole thing was being a soul mage and yet after he reincarnates, he barely even mentions it, dosen't even look at the soul classes and instead goes for bones? I don't really get why the author even made that back story (except for some plot convinience later?).
Writing quality is pretty average, not very interesting, slow paced and very childish in interactions and dialouge.
Overall I'm just not sure on what's happening with the story, mc's going towards some necromancer-warrior hybrid option which might be somewhat interesting but the writing is just not interesting enough to justify a super long read.
