Description
In the perpetually fog-shrouded streets of Blackridge City, where humans and supernatural beings coexist in an uneasy truce, Samuel Faust—the city's only skeletal detective—takes on what appears to be a simple case: a grieving goblin widow seeking answers about her husband's mysterious death. But in Blackridge, nothing stays simple for long. As Faust and his half-elven partner Sylvia Cooper follow a trail of hollow-eyed workers and suspicious diagnoses, they uncover a conspiracy that threatens the very essence of the city's non-human population. In this world where the dead don't always stay buried and the wealthy will pay any price for power, Faust will need more than his detective instincts to solve a case that cuts straight to the bone.

- SwobalRoyal Road★★★★ 4.0I have only read the first two chapters so far, but it seems like a fun little detective story that deserves a lot more views than it has.
The "Noir-isms" Like the use of Cabbage instead of money (odd considering they use coinage, while cabbage suggests dollar bills, did they just switch systems at some point maybe?) can feel a little heavy-handed in places, and can feel obtuse or overused at times. Other times it serves the characters well, giving a sort of 1930's charm over the whole tale.
But the plot seems solid, and the characters seem interesting. I look forward to see what else these characters get up to later, and what foulness has run amok in this city.
