Emblem Apocalypse

In 2014, the Earth as we know it halted.

The sky sinks, oceans tremble, and space cracks open. The moon shudders and changes into a red, nasty wound. Demons, beasts, and mutated creatures crawl from the sky, below, and within.

Humanity lost. Then, Walkers come into this world and oppose this new era where humans are weak. After a century of conflicts, the Earth remains broken, yet humanity is still trying to advance.

William is one such Walker, an unlikely young hero born with an Emblem blessed and cursed by power and Ego. He is still a human, yet they and Walkers are close, yet separate and distant. William isn't fine. He is an Outsider bearing the consequence of his parents, but it wouldn't prevent his inevitable path.

An Emblem in his hand signifies more than a choice. Watched by the great System, which sees and handles this era like nothing before, even if secrets and mistrust linger under every land, he shall live with it.

2128 is a busy year. The apocalypse remains, and Darks have always been apex predators, waiting, catching, or looking for appropriate prey. William survived more than others, so he can grow and meet his family and destiny without forgetting too much. Getting stronger is a fine goal indeed, yet is it everything to life?

Frankly, it isn't some destiny; he just has to do enough to survive and not kick the bucket.

Chapter lengths: Around 2000 words. Release schedule: five chapters released on weekdays.

What can you expect?

- A long urban/progression web novel with a mixture of power progression and slice-of-life elements in a new Earth.

- The opening chunk of the novel spans a couple of hundred chapters, setting the world, characters, and culture. There is political intrigue, mysteries, a focus on learning, and finding life in a foreign land.

- Later down the line, the Awakening marks a new page in this web novel.  There are big LitRPG systems in the background beforehand, and they get very direct later.

- There is a Xianxia-like progression that defines the Ranks of Walkers. Rank 0 to 9. The Emblems are my take on a magical power system with rules and shit, while the System is an overarching tool that many should find familiar.
