Description
When an escort mission goes wrong, Evan courageously sacrifices himself to stop a dragon attack, forever altering the trajectory of Lily's life. Little does she know that her story is merely beginning.
A goddess intervenes, bestowing Evan with a second chance at redemption by placing him in the body of Kairos – the very person Lily holds responsible for Evan's death. As Evan grapples with newfound abilities and contends with the dark spirit of the dragon, his journey takes unexpected twists.
The path to redemption becomes twisted as Evan and Lily face each other in a showdown. Will Evan emerge victorious in the ultimate confrontation, halting Lily before they destroy the world, or will the weight of the past obliterate hope for a brighter future?
I will be posting new chapters every week. Or as fast as I write them.

- Florian HannemannRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0Let me start with the two strongest points of the story for me.
Characters: The story seemes to revolve around two main characters. Evan and Lily. The character dynamics between them are vividly portrayed, capturing the complexities of sibling relationships. Their dialogue and interactions sharp and authentic, allowing readers to empathize with each character's perspective. I really like the way you can feel the connection between the two of them just from the first few chapters already.
Story: In the beginning it seems as if the author is slowly buidling up the story and assembling it's building blocks in his own time, but that quickly changes when we get thrown into action almost immediately. I like the hints of worldbuilding I have gotten to taste so far and I especially like the unexpected turns the story is taking already very early on. When those things happen you know you're in for a treat!
Grammar by itself is mostly fine. I only found very small mistakes and maybe some sentences that didn't flow too well. But nothing serious.
The Style was the weakest aspect for me. The narrative itself is layered with tension and emotions, making it an engaging read. The author's descriptions and use of visual imagery created an immersive athmosphere. At times sentence weren't that varied though and could use some more variations in term of cadence, lenght and starting words. In general another round of line editing wouldn't hurt the fiction, but all this still didn't stand in the way of creating a story that seriously drew me in.
If you're looking for a good, action-packed with unexpected twists I would definitely recommend this one! - CosmicSlimeRoyal Road★★★★★ 4.5Dragon's ember has a lot going on for it. I've only read up to chapter five but the plot's already progressing at a comfortable pace, one of the best things about this series is that the chapters are dense but not bulky, so it gets a lot done in every single chapter.
Now onto Evan the protagonist, he certainly has depth to his character, that much was obvious from chapter one but where I think his character really comes through is in his interactions. Evan seems to be really proactive and is always moving from one goal to the next so that helps with the story's progression quite a bit.
Now onto Lily, although its obvious that she's trying to come into her own, with everything she's gotten up to so far it feels like dark times are lurking ahead for the character.
The descriptions of the wold in this novel are really top notch, they bring out both the settings and the fight scenes so that's an added bonus.
The only glaring gripe so far pertains to power system......maybe it will be explained later but as of now the magic system is unclear.
This story is solid, keep it up! - Jelly MeatballRoyal Road★★★★★ 4.5I'm just starting reading this, but it's been interesting so far. The author does a great job of not overly describing things that aren't relevant to the story and focusing on the larger narrative. I can see the path they're trying to take the two protagonists and it's promising. My only concern is that the relationship with the dragon seems to improve too quickly. The dragon also seems needlessly petulant for his stated title, more like a child than a king. He seemed... small to me, but again, I'm only at the beginning, so it's highly possible the author improves this over time.
- Littlegiant7Royal Road★★★★★ 4.5Great story! The start was engaging and makes you wish for more. The fight scenes were enjoyable, and the author did a great job of describing them.
The character design was also great. The two siblings Evan and Lily, are likeable. Especially Evan, he was worthy of being an elder brother. I really hope he isn't dead.
Grammar is also impeccable.
All in all, this is a story with a lot of potential. - Carpet RiderRoyal Road★★★★ 4.0there are only two point that i want to note at the chapter one :
- evan and lily feels more like lover than brother-sister
the way the conversation moves is more like lovers, or maybe anime like, than that of family. maybe that is how you treat your siblings? i don't know but if you take reference from real life, i guess the relation is too (lovey-dovey). but if you take it from anime, well maybe please not that anime?
- need more "family bonding moment" explained to give more feels
the family bond need more "drama" in it. put more attachment between the siblings. make them more reliant on each other. make reader remember that this is a family. a caring brother who is shy but not afraid to show his love, and a proud sister, believing in her power but still inexperience.
another that i take note but is okay for the progress :
the revenge from the sister is real, full of hatred, just too logical but it can be fixed later on.
the transition for the brother is too easy, in a sense that there is no confusion, no panic, no fear. just wake up and suddenly everything is fine. suddenly met a goddess that somehow treated like some random nobody that is harmless. the "meet the goddes scene" is tasted like "OP male MC anime" ish.
the good part is :
good grammar. very good.
good story.
good feels.
i hope this story grow to be amazing, just need to add a bit more "wow" to make it wonderful.
note : i don't know what "Wow" is , maybe try to read the novel on rising star or other amazing list for reference?
