Description
Just days away from Decker's vacation, his world is shattered in an instant. Transported 50 years into the future, he's thrust into a reality where gods are slain, humanity is extinct, and eerie Eldritch creatures reign. In this new dark era, every supernatural being strives to find purpose, connect with loved ones, and carve out a meaningful existence.
Even with the dangers of the new world, certain things remain the same. Mysteries that need closure, and even in this unfamiliar terrain, Decker steps up to face them. Armed with his past experiences, he embraces the challenge of solving cases despite hardly knowing anything about his new world or even his Eldritch abilities.
However, his focus changes as sinister portals emerge, snatching creatures and unleashing them to attack him directly. He is a magnet and an Investigator.
Decker embarks on a quest to unveil the mastermind behind these portals. Driven by his determination, he navigates a path with peril, uncovering secrets that could come at the cost of his life and sanity.

- SoprapotatoRoyal Road★★★★★ 4.5I picked up Eldritch Investigator thinking I was going to get Harry Dresden, and was surprised but still happy to find myself reading a post-apocalyptic cop drama.
Style 4.5/5 - the story is well-written, and the author is working to weave in a lot of different mythologies and monsters. The only thing holding this back from a 5/5 for style is descriptions - at times I find myself wanting just a bit more to help me visualize.
Story 4.5/5 - I think the story is compelling and the narrative is building nicely. I'm interested in the world the author is building with it. What I'm still waiting for is more of a "why" or even a short-term goal that it's building towards. It feels like we're getting a lot of different threads so far, but clearer motivation could help a bit.
Grammar 5/5 - it reads well and the author had done some solid editing
Character 4/5 - Decker and Joe are fun to read, and with the introduction of another (possibly main?) Character I think the cast is building. My challenge here is in the motivation and consistency behind the characters. I can understand Joe's motivation fairly well, Decker's is harder for me to place. Sometimes he feels goofy, sometimes he feels lost. Sometimes he's witty, sometimes he's serious. It's still a fun read but that's something I'd like to see explored and smoothed out more as the story continues.
This had been fun to read! Keep writing and I'm excited to see where it goes from here!
