Description
A story about Ezel, a child born and raised in the village of Eisengrahl, set within a post-apocalyptic world in which there are barely any living beings left. The land is filled with the remains of the past, as old books and memory databanks speak of a cataclysmic event that brought an abrupt end to all organic life centuries ago. Ezel's wish is to see the rest of the world for himself, but none are allowed to leave Eisengrahl without the Älteste's blessing. However, Ezel's curiosity cannot be put to rest so easily...

- KawfiMugRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0Only three chapters are out at the time of this review but this is a novel I am genuinely excited to read.
To start, the writing style is very strong, at times it can be quite poetic in its descriptions but rarely to the point where it becomes cryptic or abstract. Perfect for conveying the lonely, almost melancholic atmosphere of the setting. Similarly, world-building is incredibly well done and each description leaves me with an image of the environment that's more vivid and complete than before.
I'm also very invested in the Ezel-Larlunt character dynamics already and I feel like I'm going to enjoy reading the conversations between the two of them. All of the characters' personalities are very well-developed and the dialogue feels very natural, with each of them so far being quite likeable.
The story itself is also very interesting although my only criticism is that it hasn't been very well established yet. To be fair though we are only three chapters in, but I still wish we were given a little more insight into what to expect going forward. Heavily anticipating what's to come when the plot begins to accelerate but for now, we're about as stuck in an uncertain beginning as Ezel is in Eisengrahl.
Regardless, I'm still greatly enjoying the novel and I can't wait to see what happens next to our main character, and what he might find beyond the confines of his village.
