Description
A thousand years after narrowly escaping extinction, humanity still fights for survival on the fringe of space.
On the alien, hostile world of Deana, Taro is tasked with dealing a mortal blow to an enemy that has pursued the last dregs of the human species across light years. From the Wild Summer hyper-carrier, Taro must strike out at an enemy that seems like it would stop at absolutely nothing to ensure humanity's time in the universe draws to an end.
The key to it all is Valerie, a human bred super-weapon, and the discovery she makes aboard the enemy craft Delirium.
What to expect fromEdge of the Storm:
You will find here a slow burning story that is punctured by moments of high flying action, intense mecha battles, gory hand-to-hand combat, tough decisions and sacrifices.
What you won't find are black and white morals, harems, cute girls, big boobs, or anything else that might bring me troves of readers.
You have been warned.
Update schedule: Saturdays (and maybe Wednesdays).

- BullerRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0Never saw the show or movies so I can't really say for sure.I only now that I like the style enough to read everything that's been put out. The names for everything is kinda neat, even if we haven't reached the parts that I know that I am going to love. Will likely update when it gets put out.
Characters arent too focused on yet. We've had moments to show off personalities, but I think it'll get much better later on. Only one way to know, I guess.
5/5 from me. - OsiriumWritesRoyal Road★★★★★ 4.5STORY:
Think adrenaline and fiction It is very much a roller-coaster ride that is action heavy. In terms of story there is a general sense/feeling of what is going on but it is fast paced most of the time. This is both a strong point and a weakness. Some might be put off by it, others will love every word.
Although I was aiming for only a few chapters for my review, I kept reading more and more.
Style:
Two words come to mind; Vague and painted. Some scenes are deprived of any detail as you speed past certain terrain or focus on a bit of dialog, whilst other scenes are so detailed that I can imagine seeing the tracer rounds flying past me into the orange sky.
Most chapters are within the 2000-2600 words, making it thick enough to have substance, yet short enough to finish in a lunch break.
The only issue in style I had was when there was a large swathe of dialog presented. It sometimes was harder to figure out who was saying what and when. Not enough to make me want to drop the book, yet it occasionally forced me to reread a sentence. Still, this could have been an active choice in terms of style.
Grammar:
The grammar does not impede the story. It flows rather well and the words fit the setting. You occasional are granted with a more fancier style of writing without it standing out.
I never really noticed a big error during my first reading with the exception of a missing or extra letter here and there.
All in all, very good.
It is only when we actively look underneath the hood that we see ‘minor issues’, but only because we were actively looking for them. (The occasional lacking comma, use of passive verbs, need for stronger adjectives.)
CHARACTHERS:
This one is a bit harder for me to explain. There is a lot of action going on, with little room for actual character development. I’ll withhold my rating of this part for now. I really wish to see more in the future and get to see more dynamics between the major players and learn more about them.
I’d give the story a so - Poached_EggRoyal Road★★★★★ 4.5There's a lot of heavily condensed worldbuilding in every line that I read, to the point where it was sometimes hard to process, but I could never call it dull. The concepts being explored are pretty wild, though I will confess that 'Battle Autism' threw me for a loop (though it does sound kind of cool). If you like a rich world with a lot of detail to unpack, this story might be for you.
