We survived, or at least came back from, being dead. So what if we are put into another world with the promise of surviving only if we work for it, well maybe that's not how the guy claiming to be a god put it but can you blame us for not really paying attention very closely when he said we're dead? Now we have been trying to get stronger so when we do stupid definitely suicidal things it doesn't get us killed. if you felt leveling up you would do something similar. Definitely.
