Dungeon Planet: The Healer Always Leaves Alive
Community Rating
Description
When a world falls through the false vacuum of its native universe, it ends up in the Spiral — an endless twisting helix of planets, stars, and civilizations, where a thousand different fundamental rules mix and blend to form the patchwork cosmos of the Weave.
In the spiral, magic and technology co-exist. Both are freely used by traders, adventurers, and plunderers to make their fortunes and forge their destinies among the stars.
Miles is a human refugee, fresh from an Earth that has recently fallen into the spiral. Unlike most of his peers, he's chosen to pursue a specialization in magic, and has just taken his first step on a journey that will take him to the highest and lowest points in his strange new universe.
This is a LitRPG in a sci-fi space setting, with dungeon delving and elements of fantasy.

- AerthtoneRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0This is probably my favorite story on RR atm. The world is really cool and unique and MC is chill. The author has a nice style and pace, not getting too caught up in anything in particular. The author hasn't been releasing regularly, but I don't really care. I will read it as it comes! Looking forward to read more.
- KorvoTtaoRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0The pure characterization of the MC is a bit lacking and so are some of the fight scenes, but overall the world-building is A+ to S Tier, and the progression on MC power is constant and interesting, and his choices in his own progression are reasonable but also seem like they lack some experience, which is actually nice, he is after all only a teenager. though as an experienced TTRPG player taking advantage of low cost entry-level upgrades is a must but MC is investing in bigger upgrades, which is frustrating :(
Hope he will later on make some better decisions, like the Core-Upgrade for his Authority, which seems essential.
At times grammar seems of but otherwise consistent quality in writing.
Please keep writing, every chapter is a joy to read. - LumentollRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0This feels like a traditional delving adventurer story, with a young hero slowly growing in depth and breadth of supernatural abilities. The caveat here is that the story takes place in a sort of joint multiverse where magic and advanced technology stand side by side.
It's got decent pacing, with believable character interactions and unique foreign races, on account of everyone but the main character being some form of alien instead of your typical elf/dwarve/goblin. The grammar has little to no errors and it feels like the author is either experienced or talented(or both, of course).
If you're looking for a new progressive power fantasy, go ahead and give this one a shot! - MartijnftRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0Great story! Really love how refreshingly ungeneric the world building is, and how well thought out the consequences of such an alien universe is - from food to language to physics to biology. Fun to see truly alien things instead of just variants on humans and human concepts. Dialog is also great, dry and hilarious at times. Hope to see it continued!
- NikosMJRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0Very good setting, quite unique.
Something this book does well is that it makes things around the MC happen on their own, it paints the main cast as making it through an interesting world. There is no immediate end goal, just a found family scraping by and living as they can. But at the same time there are clues pointing to the MC being special enough to be worth paying attention to. Not that I need that to be invested in his story. He could be a failure at everything and ignored by important people and I would still call for the author to return.
The storyline focuses less on leveling and more on slice-of-life. It is quite healing. A nice comfort-read despite the instances of high stakes action scenes, and occasional dark turns.
The integration and social dynamics of different species are well thought-out. The world building is solid in general. The power scaling is intuitive, fair and interesting.
An all-around great read.
If the author ever returns, I know they will have a solid audience welcoming them back. - OnlyBliss :)Royal Road★★★★★ 5.0Absolute Banger. Royal road is dominated mainly dominated by fantasy stuff, and while thats nice, sometimes you need something different. And this one is just fantastic. Don't stop writing pretty please. There are a lot of people who really like that stuff.
Reviews must be at least 50 words long
Reviews must be at least 50 words long - SteelvoidRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0Good story flow, very relatable characters. Doesn't get repetitive and I'm eager and hoping for more.
Hard to find good stories harder to find full scifi mixed with fantasy in a balanced casual environment setting.
A story telling so enthralling I don't even have time to speculate plot development before it happens.
Thank you author for producing something that helps me turn my brain off and just enjoy the tale. - Zues2024Royal Road★★★★★ 5.0So when are we getting more chapters? Hopefully you haven't given up yet as this is a really good start though it needs some work on ploy development but that's fairly normal for new writers. Overall though this shows some real promise. P.s. I really hate a 50 word minimum just to give a writer some stars seriously way to much for me.
- jcbutterrtoastRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0Three systems, three believable worlds, three cracked characters. Hope this author returns to this story because there aren't many like it. If it were complete, I'd probably think about it more often when folding laundry or whatever. But it's good enough that I return to it as a reference for how to write solid aliens.
Would recommended Dungeon Planet to anyone curious about what it'd be like to live in the Spiral with aliens who are actually alien, but also people. - Brian BloseRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0Dungeon Planet: The Healer Always Leaves Alive has been on hiatus for over half a year now, so I have my doubts that it will be picked up again. Which is a shame because it is a solid story with good characters set in a fascinating universe. The bit of story that we have is enjoyable and it ends after the conclusion of an arc, so its abrupt ending is graceful enough to satisfy.
The backdrop of the story is great. I cannot overstate how much I appreciate it. Worlds (including Earth) fall through from their original universes into a new one at somewhat regular intervals. There is a mishmash of sciences and magics (both of those are intentionally plural). The main character is just trying to make his way in this world, make enough money to survive, and get better at the magic he is learning.
It's great. Love the story. Wish it was ongoing. Still worth the read if you are considering it.
