---------------
In a world where dungeons function as the backbone of national economies, dungeon construction is big business. Wealthy nations spend millions to have the best dungeon builders construct labyrinthine edifices full of the most dangerous traps and planted with the strongest dungeon cores in the hope of luring powerful adventurers in to retrieve the treasures generated deep within.
Samuel Tolliver works for his father, who runs the finest construction crew on the continent. It is a good life, one that keeps him close to family and that earns him enough money to pursue his inventions when he has a free moment. He even has something of a talent for fixing things and keeping the various bits of equipment running. It should have been the best job in the world. There's just one problem.
Sam hates dungeons and wants to destroy them all some day. And he's got the plan to do it, too.
But life has a way of throwing curveballs at you. When a series of disastrous events that he himself set in motion culminates in Sam winding up dead, he thought that was the end of it. Until a voice came to him and offered him a deal, one he simply couldn't refuse.
Now Dungeon Man Sam has returned to life as the guardian for a strange new dungeon core, one that will turn everything he knows about the world upside down and force him to set aside his hatred of dungeons. For the sake of himself, his friends, and his family, Sam must construct a dungeon like the world has never seen before and defend it against all comers, be they monstrous or adventurous. If he succeeds, he'll get to see his family again. If he fails, everyone he knows will fall into the grave.
And somewhere beyond the range of his knowledge, something ancient and terrible stirs and takes notice.
Dungeon Man Sam: When all you have is a hammer, youbuild.

This Is A Work In Progress:
This isn't the final form of Dungeon Man Sam, there's gonna be some typos, and things may change between chapters as I realize "crap, I didn't set that up nearly as well as I thought I did". I'll let you know if anything like that happens, and if you notice anything that you think is worth pointing out, feel free to let me know!
Hope you enjoy the story!

- Consistent MilkRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0This fiction is impressive based on how it implements old concepts in new and refreshing ways. Not only does it come up with ingenious new ways of implementing its concepts, but it also does a great job in building its characters and world.
Although the first chapter is a bit too long, I had no problem retaining my attention due to how the author makes the story flow. The writing style and grammar could improve more, but it is not immersion-breaking at the moment.
Overall it's a humorous, refreshing, and engaging new approach to the old and overdone RPG fantasy genre. - FaireeRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0Honestly, I don't think there is anything that I would not like about this story so far. Even though it has just begun, I've already found myself eagerly waiting for the following chapters. I'm looking forward to seeing where this goes. You should definitely give it a chance and read at least a few chapters.
- Lumina FeyRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0I love everything about this story, from the worldbuilding, to the characters, to the author. This is by and far one of the coolest things I have read. Everything about Sam and his world and the adventure he goes on is gripping, facinating, just exciting
The characters are written really well, everyone has distinct voices and personalities, with their own goals.
This was one of my first times wandering into LitRPG and i'm very glad it was my introduction to the genre because it's a satisfying read
(Please note i'm reviewing after having had access to advanced chapters. However, the critique is my own - I just love the guy who writes this and his stories) - Urban Goat HerderRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0Fun story from what I have read up till now. I think the comedy is great, though some of it is a little overdone, in my view 4.7 stars! Better then some of the more popular stuff out there. I encourage people to check it out and enjoy the journey.
- Em-dasRoyal Road★★★★ 4.0It started out really well, introducing various characters and getting us interested in them. Then it killed everyone, and the boy doesn't even really get to mourn before the story jumps into really cliché litrpg stuff.
I guess it's a case of me just being so tired of soulless protags with no familial connections.
edit: upped the review to 4 stars, my opinion still stands, but the author has writing chops even with the highly questionable pacing.
