Description
The multiverse is a big place, and it is also constantly in flux. As such sometimes mistakes occur, impossibilities that should have never come into existence. An aspect of corruption born naturally of a mortal and a divine, a Void that is a singularity instead of a duality, a being that came to be before existence ever was, a forgotten that is not damned, the possibilities are infinite and limitless, and thus so are the possible mistakes in this grand multiverse. But are not mistakes more entertaining to watch?
For Kelic the Blightborn, life was suffering. Born of a holy Templar dedicated to serving the Forgotten Guardian and a powerful abyssal demon queen that raped said Templar, Kelic’s first sight and sensation in Quellios and its realms was being baptized in the life-blood of his dying father. Tortured in the 1425th level of the abyss for ten years, Kelic was only set free of this constant nightmare of an existence by the unintended results of the Ascendant Angel’s rise to true divinity.
His freedom from the abyss was not the paradise that the young Kelic thought however, as he was branded a BlightBorn, or a child of tragedy that brings only misfortune, by the people of Quellios. Abused by all he ever knew or met the boy found solace in only in the things of beauty and the act of reading, a skill he taught himself. His latent ability to comprehend and remember all of what he read and the sheer speed of his reading gained the attention of a prominent figure of Evrette Academy Island. Taken in by the famous mage Fredrick Dunhousen, Kelic lived in peace for the first time in his young life… that is until he was killed.
Follow the tale of a newly born dungeon core in the world of Eserthet, that has only one single purpose. One single purpose it decided for itself...

- Dr_DacRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0a fresh and new take on the "dungeon" franchise the caracter is highly interesting
and has me hungering for more. My only down point: there is not enough yet XD - awesomedude2215Royal Road★★★★★ 5.0Well hello there! In this review I will try be spoiler free as possible and while I am a super fanboy of this story and try to be very impartial. Well here it goes.
Style 4.5- Style is very subjective, either you like it or you don't. But this doesn't mean it is too different from the more popular fictions, in fact it is similar in many ways but different just enough to give the writing its own signature and personality. Overall very well done.
Grammar 4.5- Nearly flawless. One typo or another every other chapter but nothing you can't overlook. Would give 5.0 but no fiction in this site should get one in my opinion.
Character 5.0- Just like story I give this a 5.0. All characters are fleshed out, and when is say that I mean it, we get several different povs that while long all revolve around the MC, not affecting the flow of the story in any way, only adding to it. Characters have different personalities but we are no where far enough to judge them completely, but from what we do have so far we can see them as special in each of their ways. Very well done and one of my favorite parts of this story.
Overall a must-read. I don't understand how this isn't at least on top 5 weekly, but I think it will soon enough. It is too good to not be more popular. - HexwolfxRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0Its all in the title has I said so keep up the great series.
- Kawatari KazuyaRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0Dudddeee....so sad you never continued, id REALLY love to read vol. 2, it was a great story loved it very much.... So it really sucks i wont know what happens after
- denkkarRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0I love this genre of story. Each has something unique to them. I'm rather glad this one doesn't have a random dungeon fairy that magically knows to show up at the birth of a new core. In fact, I'd say this story has by far the most dramatic starting sequence. Characters actually grow over time... including this story's namesake who starts from a very low base. The evil aspects, dungeons have to kill to grow after all, are quite well done in my opinion. Can't say much more without spoilers sadly.
Other dungeon lord type stories I've come across thus far (all on Royal Road):
The Slime Dungeon (get the Kindle version, editing is vastly improved)Overseer (technically no dungeon)I was reincarnated as a Magic AcademyCultivating DungeonLair (only if you can tolerate English as a second language) - XeroDKRoyal Road★★★★ 4.0This novel has done very well in terms of character. Instinct, Waynor, Hanna, and all the others were realistic for the most part. The psychological aspect was done justice and I can recommend this novel solely on its characters. The dynamic between all the characters are emphasized and perspectives from the humans, monsters, and the dungeon personalities was very well done. The grammar is serviceable but needs to be put through a word processor. Sentences can also be written better.
The real critic I can give is towards the end. I have read all of volume 1 and this needs a conclusion. The second part of the volume was the weaker half when it could've landed gracefully but it kinda got shot in the head. Just because an event or development can happen doesn't mean it would make a good story. In short, the climax and resolution leave much to be desired.
Spoiler: Spoiler
Okay. I get it. I understand why you killed the brother. Waynor's and Hanna's reaction was on point and the purpose was clear. But I didn't like it. I wanted him to live and have Waynor stop it. You spent chapters building up what happened and when it did happen, it was ultimately unsatisfying. Was this development justifiable just for that outcome? You wanted to differentiate yourself from other novels yet the jump in logic was too much for me. What was the point of having Loria not kill the human herself and have the convoluted plan? - MorViuMRoyal Road★★★★ 4.0hope you will edit menu, stat and game element thing with table.it hurts so much for my eyes when i'm reading it..
thx if you can do that. - nononokeRoyal Road★★★ 3.0I stopped reading at chapter 14.
Story: It's not great, a slice of life without plot, a bit weird for the dramatic prologue, you would expect some story about vengeance and stuff but no he slept for 10 million years and forgot everything, I don't even know why his past life was introduced at all since it's so unimportant.
Character: Well a harem story and not a good one. Mc is designed as intelligent, curious and more so naive, something that makes him either nice or terrifying, but he is a bit bland and lack depth something you can excuse with his lack of memory and his actual condition but others character fail to get my interest.
Grammar: I think it's good, I can't be a good judge since I'm not fluent but I was still able to spot few mistakes and weird sentences.
Style: This is what bothers me the most in this work, there is a lot of long hard to read paragraphs that I skipped more than once, a lot repetition and the side story that is just a change of pov, having everybody pov for one event is not interesting and it's very long, I think the author did that because of his choice to write in the 1st person.
And finally, the way it was written feels childish that contrast a bit with the darker theme the author try to slowly introduce and oddly, I felt like I was reading some translated Japanese light novel. - mcspaddinRoyal Road★★ 1.5Honestly this has been one of my favorite stories to read on rrl. That being said, the author has a nasty tendency to stop writing for older stories. While it seems the story will continue, the author is constantly writing content for new ideas instead of finishing the ones that are already popular. It has even gotten to the point that the author has posted chapters in stories like di to bounce ideas for new stories off of his readership. And THAT folks, sickens me. There is little that I dislike more than finding a new chapter in my bookmarks only to have the author basically rub in my face that they are not working on the story I subscribed to. I'm on the edge of giving up on the author entirely because of it.
- Edward WattsRoyal Road★ 0.5What trash, I looked past all the author notes being more than the story. But to end on a promotion to another story get real, don't write it's not for you. Maybe short stories. I can't believe iworry 50 words for this trash. I would rather not. What about this? A a a a a a. A a a a a. A a a a a a
