    First five chapter review.
I'm often wondered how Petunia and Vernon would have reacted if Dudley had been a wizard. How that would change the dynamic the summer before their first year of Hogwarts. This story doesn't take on that burden exactly, but it does give a glimpse of that possibility while also adding its own personal shine to it.
Style wise. As much as I personally don't like point of view shifts, the author labels them very clearly, which avoids any unnecessary jarring feeling. The pace makes for a quiet tea time book that you read bits and pieces of over the course of a few weeks rather than binging, which makes it kind of perfect for a serialized format.
Grammar wise. For the most part, grammar is fairly top notch. I'm still confused by shorthanding the word 'something' a few times. Shorthanding anything is prose kind of defeats the purpose, but to only do it to one word is weird. That being said, no other grammar problems ever took me out of the story.
Story wise, we've got an interesting concept here. There's a very meta feeling as to why Dudley changes that lends itself to a unique exploration. The author seems to know their stuff, and between the knowledge and the potential, this story could easily go for a wild, entertaining ride.
Character wise is hard to judge on fanfiction. The characters themselves were developed by someone else, but there are changes made. Especially with Dudley, who does a complete 180 turn. The author sticks to the characters as portrayed quite well, and I never thought to myself, "They would never do that," so I think the best decision here is to say that they are well done in execution.
Overall, this isn't my typical story to read, but I can see it finding its niche crowd to rally behind it. Much props to the author for tackling such a diffiicult concept, and managing it creatively.
