- AfonyaRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0I thoroughly enjoyed every chapter. The novel as it is needs some editing/proofreading to catch some little mishaps here and there, like the cat being able to communicate with humans other than MC. Otherwise it's a very good start. Can't wait to see the world more!
Grammar. I'm not a native English-speaker, so I'm not the best judge... I do occasionally drop KU books because of horrendous grammar. This one is fine, no complaints here.
I have a small hope that the author reconsiders the whole 'selling arms to the enemies of humanity' thing though 😀 - DragonsAwayRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0Great story! I am off put by the main character's choices at times which makes sense since I am not nearly as ruthless as he. I like his companionship with Pumpkin. I don't like that he's 18, but ywsyls. I do like that Harvey reacted completely casually at the time but was obviously less cool that he pretended. Also, I like the subplot with Amelia Dawn. It seems promising. Maybe I just like characters with the last name Dawn...
- NeutralizerRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0The author creates a unique system, paired with a calculative mc, and thrilling adventures. The little fluffy addition is not annoying and fits well in the story.
Honestly I expected more evil mc, but the resulting middle ground is much more to my liking. I also enjoy mc's comparison to our world and most importantly - his need to be presentable whenever possible.
From the poster I expexted a more sedentiary story, but the adventure is at hand! - belovedRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0It's not often I write a review, but this book is excellent. Well written, flowing at a reasonable pace it is compelling. I am honestly not a huge fan of the MC - there are some very immoral choices made yet the writing is captivating and I am interested to see where this leads, and if our MC will change or grow into any kind of morality.
On the other hand it is obvious that the MC is at least starting as a massive narcissist and so the choices written reflect this in a way that is both chilling yet understandable if the only person in the world who matters is ones self.
No grammatical errors I have notice so far, and very few if any spelling mistakes. Written like a natural native English speaker. - crazyness101Royal Road★★★★ 4.0It has kind of a slow start but it's very interesting. So far after 91 chapter we haven't gotten to any arms dealing but their are several mysteries happening that I can't wait to find out what happens. It's a mostly fantasy magic fiction but there are some modern conveniences in it. And I love the take on system and classes. That is very cool.
- CardboardbaconRoyal Road★★★★ 4.0An enjoyable premise with some sensible restrictions on the MCs class. The MC seems realistic so far and doesn’t, to me at least, seem excessively like a sociopath or murder hobo. Edit: spoke too soon, the murder hoboing has commenced!
The setting is a good so far, no glaringly obvious ways for the MC to use his prior life knowledge yet, and there is obvious structure to the kingdom and sufficient room for intrigue.
The writing flows well and I have noticed no grammar or spelling issues.
Edit: I think the MC is too casual with the murder honking. - YaRootedKentRoyal Road★★★★ 3.5Fun story
The only problem being at one point the MC is trying to negotiate good terms for himself from criminals, then proceeds to murder the messenger boy who brought him there.
There is other issues with the world the MC is in having the equivalent of modern communication, which is cool and makes sense in context of the story, but the MC is willing to commit crimes and ifnot get caught, at least become a suspect when the world is capable of broadcasting suspect lists
Other than that, this story is great and has great potential - MadNORoyal Road★★★ 3.0Lorry-kun caught my interest.
I really like the writing style but not the plot, sadly.
Mainly about switching Classes around in a small town. Nobody will notice, seriously?
Then the class progression, what actually gives MC exp, theft?
Lets not talk about the spatial storage.
Fantasy Cat Burglar should be more appropriate. - Jaller ObrimRoyal Road★★★ 2.5The Verdict: This story is just plain boring, 67 chapters in and almost nothing has happened, and we've yet to see a single hint of anything approaching action in line with the title of the story. There's nothing inherently wrong with this story, but there isn't really anything notable enough to justify reading in the presence of other options. A significant rewrite is probably necessary to warrant continuing to read.
Style
1 - subpar
comments: The writing style is inconsistent in virtually all respects, word selection, tense, person all seem to switch without rhyme or reason. Individual chapters are readable, but as a whole, continuity is severely lacking. Any choice of POV and tense would be fine, but a single choice needs to be made.
Story
1.5 - barely readable
comments: White collar criminal commits suicide rather than face the consequences of his actions and ends up in another world. Sure, why not. Lets do crime again, sure, also why not? Unfortunately we're 67 chapters in, and there has been a little fantasy, and zero arms dealing. A quick murder, and a road trip is all that we have so far. The world building also feels just plain lazy, the MC takes over essentially an NPC with no repercussions whatsoever and just meanders around town doing whatever before killing a kid out of the blue and going on a road trip.
Essentially readable, but lacking substance enough to continue the effort.
Grammar (and editing)
2.5 - average in all respects
comments: Some errors here and there, but about what one expects for this platform. Nothing notable really
Character Score
1 - shallow
comments: The MC is defined by a single nebulous concept (Greed), which seems to randomly pop up at whatever point is convenient for the author. What other characters we've encountered also seem to lack substance beyond a single defining characteristic if they have one at all. Essentially we're 67 chapters in and I can't even tell you about the characters and that is entirely the problem. This co - NorthernReaderRoyal Road★ 0.5I read up to chapter 91, all the time expecting, well, the story to be about a fantasy armsdealer. It is not. That is to say, 350 pages in, there has been not even an implication in the story, that it is about an armsdealer.
So far he is minor participant in a drugsmugling operation trying to protect humans against a massive invasion of monsters.
There has been no armsdealing. The story is a, barely, average litrpg power-fantasy. Not in any way resembling the story advertised, and honestly quite forgettable.
