Description

Grant leads a boring life as an interstellar freight hauler. He just wanted things to be a little more exciting so he put on his Neuro Helmet and asked the AI for a game that mimicked real life, but with all the trappings of an action vid. Grant finds his ship pulled out of the Rift by pirates. A completely logical possibility for a game, but the pain feedback settings won't reduce and he can't exit the game. Simply put, it's not a game and he just murdered seven guys and stole a ship. Now Grant has his exciting life complete with a demon looking Splicer girl with a tantalizingly high bounty on her head and a criminal organization tracking him down. “Be careful what you wish for” never hit so hard.

    One of the best sci-fi stories that I have read on Royal road so far. I see lots of potential!
    Style:
    Very nice - good flow overall. Very good writing style. Detailed scenes and world building without any info dumps.
    Story:
    A bit jumpy so far. A clear direction could be helpful, but it's only been 14 chapters as of this review.
    Grammar:
    Basically perfect - can't complain.
    Character:
    Main character is very fleshed out - very consistent in his decisions and clear thought processes.
    Overall a story with lots of potential. Hopefully with a more stringent storyline and some shipbuilding!
    Give it a shot if you are into sci-fi - it's better than a lot of the published sci-fi books out there. Definitely one of the sci-fi diamonds of this side.

    Absolutely enjoyed it this far, damn great story and keeps you engaged. Really excited to see what happens next. Didn't really notice any grammar or spelling mistakes, flow of the story is really good and action scenes are fun and you never seem to know what will happen next in the story and that just makes it even more fun.
    Just waiting for the next chapters to release.

    I was pleasantly surprised to find a series this good and devastated when I finished all the available chapters.  The characters are interesting and fun, the plot is interesting, and the world building is extremely competent.  I look forward to the continuation of this story.
    My only complaint is that the grammar isn't perfect sometimes, but overall very good.  The main problem is the occasional incorrect punctuation mark.
