This series was formative to young-to-the-Internet me, a revelation that you could find good fiction for free online. (This was... sixteen years ago, if not more. XD) It's a great read, a slow build to discover a world with a lot of depth to it, with a cast full of very relatable characters. I highly recommend it!

AsaHi is a character that is skepitcal at first which is what I like. It feels fresh having a character who actually questions the world around her originally. Talking about the world, the world building is pretty good. The tension with the council possibly reprimanding AsaHi for her messing with the gate raised the stakes. Many characters are also introduced initially but each feel different from the other which is good. Keep it up!
