- MissAres05Royal Road★★★★★ 5.0This is my first time writing a review as I usually don't have any strong opinions. The reason I am writing this is because there are already very few reviews about this novel and I want more people to read it.
The author so far has made me fall in love with the world and its characters. Even though the story is in its initial phases, I am genuinely enjoying the atmosphere created. The author has done a great work of making an independent world with it's own chronological past.
I urge the readers to read past the first 2 chapters as in my opinion the author is still setting up the story. The author could have improved the pacing in these chapters and should not have used long exposition.
The author has also masterfully created a bit of an original Power system which hooked me instantly to the story. The main character feels believable and acts as a tool for you to expolre the world as you are infected with his sense of curiosity. The side characters introduced so far also don't feel mindless.
All in all I really liked the story and hope you all will give it a try and read it. The author seems to be interested in the story so I will also keep on following it.
I hope the world the author created gives us an exciting story. - SK1738Royal Road★★★★★ 5.0Happened to come across "Dream Tower" by this new author. Was skeptical in giving it a shot at first, but my oh my am i glad that i did! Had not expected to get this hooked to the story. An interesting plotline, captivating characters and a sturdy plot lies ahead. Really anticipating the future chapters. Completely worth your time. Wonderfull first attempt noob. I expect greatness from you!! You have me hooked.
- RotoRoyal Road★★★★ 4.0(This is the author's first time writing a novel, so my review will not be overly critical.)
The world the author has created is the novel's biggest strength. It boasts a well-developed and logical world. The author went so far as to create an original currency and history. I look forward to learning more about it as the story progresses.
But this focus on detail is also the novel's biggest weakness. The author takes every opportunity to give exposition. This isn't limited to world-building, it feels like every time a new character or concept is introduced, serval long paragraphs of exposition will follow.
In my opinion, this makes the pacing rather slow. This is a shame because I feel there is an interesting story hidden beneath the slow pace. My advice on the subject would be: not everything has to be explained immediately. It helps build suspense and reader engagement with you take a slower pace towards exposition.
The grammar is readable, but it does feature frequent errors that detract from the reading experience. "i" is commonly left uncapitalized and random spaces appear in the text. These problems could easily be fixed by running the chapters through a grammar editor first. I personally use Grammarly, it's free and it catches most basic mistakes.
The story has been interesting so far, featuring several moments that I thought were particularly interesting. I won't get into the details due to spoilers, but there is a reveal at the end of chapter 1 that will leave you on the edge of your seat.
Due to the new nature of the story, the main plot has not picked up yet, so I won't comment on it. The same goes for the characters, most of them haven't done anything noteworthy yet.
All in all, I would recommend this book if you have a strong interest in world-building. Take a look at the first chapter, you just might like it. If you are looking for a more action heavy fast paced story, however, I would not recommend you read the book.
To the author: I hope you continue - SilentReader78Royal Road★★★★ 4.0The story until now and the world building seems solid and the story has good pacing.
The characters seem different and the feeling of mystery from the latest chapter is interesting.
Feels like it will go in a good direction and looks like it has some potential.
The author can work on his chapter lengths as there seems to be a bit of difference between the length of the first and second chapter.
But the pacing feels good and for a debut writer the writing does not feel dry.
I hope the author continues to improve and work on his chapter lengths.
Other than that I will try to be on the lookout of this novel as it may turn out to be something good.
