- EleMentalPhoenixRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0A very nice story with great worldbuilding.
Some character interactions seem a bit strange, but that could very well be because of missing understanding/communication.
The stats are there, but not necessarily important, but they are integrated into the world/plot.
The characters seem lovely, some of them couldnt get much time on screen, which is fine, the story is still young ^^
Nice read with immense potential.
I recommend it. - MinecraftFanaticRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0This is a most esteemed novel and as I have seen that this novel has yet to have an advanced review of any kind I have taken it upon myself to give this novel in advance review.
I find this novel to be a exciting action while at the same time having aspects of slice of Life in the interactions between Kestra and the Elementals and I'm excited to see where the interactions between the two groups lead in relation to kestra and her Ascension through the Myriad Realms.
I keep it a five star on style as there are very few times in which I have seen transmigration stories where the main character is transmigrated not from Earth but from a fantasy world that just so happens to have a system, but this system is interesting and that is different from the one that kestra is familiar with and I like that.
Four star and story because while it's been amazing so far it's not the exciting action story that I was looking forward to when I found the story it does however have nice elements of adventure and exploration of both the world the system and the various differences between kestra's world and this one.
I give the grammar a five because I am usually very well versed when it comes to finding grammar inconsistencies while reading a passage however I will warn that my opinion on the matter might not be the absolute best as even though I am a native English speaker I did not get the best grade in English class.
Characters of five because once again the transmigration between worlds, that of a fantasy world with a system of its own and that of this world a cultivation a world with its own system and the exploration of how skills and such things transfer between worlds. Kestra's interesting feats are not the only thing that I can report on when it comes to characters, the characters this story that I will focus on are the elementals and each elemental is unique, Graemire is unique in the matter that he is composed while also being quite passionate about plants and such things, Eile - luda305Royal Road★★★★ 4.0I was a big fan of the original version: It was a breathe of fresh air compared to how many of the usual tropes were handled. But, with a read of the re-write, I find myself questioning whether the re-write is significantly different from the original or whether my tastes have changed so much.
I have two major criticisms of the story.
First, and more importantly, a fascinating protagonist ends up being side-lined in her own story. The protagonist is a late-20s/30s adventurer on her own magical LitRPG world as a combat alchemist when she's selected to transmigrate to a xianxia-esque realm with a very different LitRPG. She cool, calm and experienced, which makes her both a great character overall and a breath of fresh air compared to the usual isekai'd protagonist (both generally and literally within the story). Yes the new realm and it system are very different, but a lot of it translates in some way and it's clear she's going to be fairly overpowered for her level.
The problem is that she ends up becoming a bit of a side character as more powerful characters get introduced and the plot hitches onto them. She ends up being fairly passive for many, many chapters until the plot gets back onto track/focused on her.
Second, the pacing of this first book is just far too rushed. The scope of what's covered in just book 1 would be several books for most other series. But it's also rushed on a smaller scale as well. There are so many scenes where it'd be nice to slow down and mull it over, but we're always rushing back out the door and onto the next thing. It almost feels like the story wants to begin on the second realm (?), but there'd be too much background to explain if the story did so. - GuthanRoyal Road★★★★ 3.5Book one starts off decently well with an interesting plot hook. An isekai where the main character uses charisma to develop friendships and gain power is very refreshing.
Sadly things quickly go downhill near the end of book one. We don’t have any real “main quest.” The entirety of book one is an extended introduction arc. Book two starts off with an obscene obsession with “duel cultivation.”
I need to be honest, it’s very disappointing when a promising novel drops the ball this hard. Our MC quickly stops caring about anything except sex for power. I don’t think anyone except the author cares about this portion of the story.
Among other world building issues is how leveling works. A high level person can run a newbie through a dungeon and give them nigh endless power ups with low effort. This completely breaks any suspension of disbelief when you remember how things currently work in this setting. A level 90 could go down to the low realms and raise a loyal army of millions solely through dungeon runs in under 5 years. I did the math, and it’s both possible and efficient. - BrGastlRoyal Road★★★ 3.0This Xianxia is intriguing and a fresh breath. LitRPG elements very present, transmigration not only from earth, but also different planets. And overall we have a story which doesn't develop in stereotypical fights over greed and greed, but are justified. Which gives it a very fresh breath in the Xianxia novel universe.
Though after reading further and further. I'm sometimes not sure what the author wants to tell us. Sometimes the story seems to rush from one event to the next, like something is about to happen only to resolve the situation in the most optimal and blunt solution possible. If you ever have read a Xianxia its often the fight against every possible established element. Here our MC has the momentum and the energy of 'I would just smash the table and not stand it' if you're ever fed up with over complicated plots, in which the MC just fumbles around, thats your story to de-stress. Though as I said after reading further and further. I am still contemplating, is that all? Since there is not much of an element of fine considerations, philosophy or comedy, besides small snippets. I think that thats not enough to keep the readers entertained except if thats just their genre. Its like watching a boxer smashing non moving non-combatants. If its a jerk its fun and exhilarating the first times, but after a few episodes you would wonder if there is more and if the non-combatant couldn't at least try to do something. If the author would slow down a bit in writing and balance this a bit more I think we have the making of a great book, but I can't see that happening at the moment, since there are no such intentions. Though it would help with some typos the author sometimes makes anyway...
The characters are fine, though to be honest not much stays after reading a chapter. Since we rush from event to event there isn't much time for personality building. Even romance elements feel like a one night stand. The events the author comes up are many and as basis interesting
