Dis-abilities

Description
Ok so James isn't your average human, actually he's disabled. Unfortunatley he finds himself in a fantasy adventure clearly written for able-bodied teenagers with fantastic looks, but instead its him, and four other ugly (by his description not mine) disabled ones. How the hell is he supposed to survive?
My little brother has spinabifida, which is a birth defect that leaves him paralyzed from the waist down. When he first began to read I noticed that most books, videogames, entertainment, etc. rarely recognized disabilities in their content, and when they did it was always perfectly counteracted before the majority of the story (for example daredevil, blind but posesses the quirk of ecolocation)
I decided to fix that by having a disabled MC that faced the same challenges as an able-bodied one, without a convenient handicap. So now i'm writing a YA novel that fits under that description, one that hopefully reaches at least the majority of the disabled teen population

- RznRoyal Road★★ 2.0The story here is an interesting idea done in a way that is fairly offensive given its terms and the way even simple acts of just existing needs to be the base of some joke, such as the costume itself. The idea that those with some disability, physical or mental, not having representation in fantasy media is one that has numerous facets, but to poke fun at it is something in bad taste.
- gnarlytreemanRoyal Road★★ 1.5The writer clearly needs more tact. There are more socially acceptable ways to write the same thing, and still express frustration, discontent, and general hate for an unfortunate life.
