Description
Scars are a sign of pride and strength. A sign of survival. Naturally, this only applies to the physical scars and not the mental scars. No, mental scars are almost universally agreed to be negative and for good reason. Physical scars merely change how your body looks. Mental scars change how a person thinks. How many scars can a person truly handle before they break and need to be rebuilt?
Rosan just wants to enjoy life. He didn't ask for all this.

- ChibrowRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0Well, I don't know where to begin—there might be spoilers ahead, so be advised.
As of today I read all 5,662 pages of the story and to give some perspective it goes from the very beginning of the story where the mc start as an infant, less than 4, (the MC is not a reincarnator and has no knowledge of the events of the original story) to where the last chapter I read is at the end the 2 years training period after Ace died in the original story and the MC is 25+.
It’s an incredibly addictive fanfic that I binge-read over just a few days. While it’s not perfect, I found myself reading for hours on end. The story is long enough to be satisfying, even during moments of frustration with certain plot points or decisions. In the end, everything ties together in a way that feels earned. From start to finish, it’s been a roller coaster of emotions, drama, plot twists, adventure, and character growth. It’s easily in the top 3 fanfictions I’ve read so far.
Style:
Nothing major to note here. It’s easily readable, and I didn’t notice any serious issues with the writing style.
Grammar:
It’s not perfect—especially toward the middle and end, there are occasional mistakes here and there—but nothing that makes the story unreadable or confusing. Nothing’s perfect.
Story:
This is the heart of the review. As I mentioned, the story is a real roller coaster. The tone, style, and character development shift throughout the chapters. It starts off very dark—lots of murder, drama, death, and even some torture—which is the complete opposite of the cheerful tone in the original story. As the story progresses toward the middle and the end, the tone becomes lighter and more hopeful. These shifts are well-handled and purposeful, and everything ties together meaningfully over time.
There’s romance, but no harem and no sex scenes. There’s adventure, pirates, mystery, violence, camaraderie—all set in the One Piece universe.
Characters:
The MC is well-developed, with a defined power set and not overly - UnOtakuMasRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0I am a One Piece fan. I love this story and I pray to God that the author will finish this amazing story because I don't know what I would do without seeing this story's end.
What more can I say? It's One Piece but more, so much more. The characters and relationships, the ups and downs, it is really well written to the point that you fall in love with this story.
It touches hard topics for sure and shows dark themes but I swear to you that it manages to uplift everything. Since the emotional downs are so harsh, it's to be expected that the emotional highs are also brutally good.
I read this story up to Return to Sabaody 2 in less than a week. I lost myself in this amazing journey that it is this story. The characters are so well written and you truly feel for them and they feel so alive that I can't help but get snared by them.
I personally love Portgas D Rosan and Iris D Raisa specially. I cried so much with both of their stories and I can't help but be emotionally attached to this novel.
Thank you author for the magnificent work you do. What an amazing story you are writing. Hope you manage to finish it eventually. - WitherCernunnosRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0I am eager to see how far this author takes this story. So far everything I've read has been a amazing delight. 👏 I hope to see this up there with the best of the best on this site. Well crafted story and organically placed OCs into a already expansive story. Chef kiss
- HemabejoRoyal Road★★★★★ 4.5Its Good,
there were moments i didnt like, got bit dark here and there, but i am happy i continued.
so far one of the better One Piece fanfiction i have read.
as of 31/8/24 i have read about 1/3 of the story.
Doest follow Luffy so far, has met with Sanji and Robin, but when they were kids. Its a nice set up and cant wait how its gonne play out in the future. MC is a bit to blood thirsty for my personal taste, but it only shows in some rare cases.
I hope that the story so far was the starting point and cant wait how its all gonne go once the main plot starts. - DruftRoyal Road★★★ 3.0Started well. Then for some reason we had to have 10 years of mc doing nothing to keep him weak enough to follow Luffy around and not make everything completely pointless. I really can't understand how we got here from the early chapters, which seemed to at least have the mc follow his own story.
- Buderus 123Royal Road★ 0.5This story started out with the ability to be a great Addition to the world of one piece and to watch the author make decisions that thoroughly betray and destroy their own creation has been soul crushing.
What could have been and what the author decided to do up to this point in the story has made no sense to me.
It’s almost a classic example of wanting your cake and eating it too in that the author wanted the character to fit Certain criteria, but Chose in the worst way to meet those criteria.
You wanted Rosan to be a powerful older brother character with connections and achievements of his own, someone who has been sailing the seas since he was four years old But you also wanted him to join Luffy as his first crewmember And not be way stronger than him.
The fact that in a 10 year time skip where he didn’t Try to improve himself, develop counter measures for logia Users, the fact that Seastone Wasn’t found till the end of the 10 year period when he’s about to leave with Luffy Yet can’t absorb it because it would have negative effects that would take time to remove (Not like you had a 10 year gap that he could’ve used no that would be too convenient), And completely having the inability to learn The existence or train inHaki At this stage is just Forced nonsense.
I’m pretty sure at this point in the story ace who is four years younger and who has only been traveling for three years is probably Equal to, if not stronger than Rosan is so frustrating not because of in-story reasons, but because you didn’t want him to be too powerful to join Luffy’s crew.
And I’m not going to get into the terrible writing that was the three chapters Beginning of the end, N/A, and Mario Other than to say, I hope you take these As a lesson in what not to do.
At this point, it feels less like you’re writing your own story and more you’re trying to almost verbatim retail the story of one piece. The only difference is Of your homemade character, who apparently has no effect on the outcome o
