Depths of Vanalf (Grimnir Chronicles Book 1)

Hallik has been training his whole life to become a Grimnir, a magic-wielder who can aid in keeping their island safe from the monster hordes outside the shield protecting them.

He's a year away from being able to enter the cave of Vanalf where magic is earned when monsters start getting through the shield.

This means he and his friends need to enter the cave a year early or watch their entire nation get overrun.
