When the patriarch of the powerful Medina family dies, he makes a bargain with death: he'll guide his family from beyond the grave as a spirit, and will only move on when the last of his bloodline is gone.

But Giovanni Medina must contend with a rapidly changing world and the consequences of his actions while alive. Reduced to only watching and whispering in his descendants ears while they sleep, he struggles to balance the needs of the family with the needs of individuals who hate each other.
