For a first chapter, I really enjoyed the direction it's heading. It is probably fair to say this chapter was dedicated to giving the reader a feel for the world and some information I can only assume will be used down the road.
With all this in mind, I really enjoy the style of your writing so I'd say it deserves a 5/5
As for story, it's the first chapter so I can't say too much but I really enjoyed what I read and hope to dive deeper into this world in greater detail.
Grammar wasn't horrible, it was pretty good even, only noticed a few slips ups that could probably be explained as a style choice. 3.5/5
Del seems like an interesting character but after the first chapter I still dont feel like I know much about him and it's a decent sized chapter. What I have learned about him I have enjoyed but I feel like it could have used just a little more. 3.5/5 that really wanted to be a 4/5
Overall I really enjoyed the story and look forward to another chapter. Things that I feel could be done to improve: Polish in regards to editing and grammar would probably be the biggest. It isn't bad by any means but if you're aiming for professional, you have a bit more work to do. I also feel like you could go more in depth with your characters, it feels like you just scratched the surface. Understandably so, I'm sure you do not want to expose it all to soon but do not be afraid to give Del something more to talk about or think about so the readers can at least have some superficial details in between core details, if that makes sense.
Otherwise I don't have any other critiques and really enjoyed the chapter.
