Description

Battlefields mar the crossroads between empires, and Lwenn is a kingdom whose fields are rich with the blood and bones of those who sought to conquer it. Every generation bears the scars of the wars it was witness to, and Red will soon get hers. Last member of the once-illustrious House Hildegard, mage in a world where magic has all but been rendered obsolete against technology's unyielding march, after twenty years of isolated existence in her family's abandoned estate, her only friend's disappearance finally drives her to enter the world she shut herself off from.

Across the horizon, from the lands of the empire west, there ring the drums of war. Almighty Sol threatens to cast his skeletal hand across Lwenn once more, and after centuries of holding back the tide, there are doubts if the kingdom will be able to withstand the deluge once again.

Lwenn is a kingdom full of vile pigdog barbarians and scum, and only Mordian rule can free it from its illegitimate rulers and heretic religion.
Lwenn has never achieved anything, its rulers are incompetent and illegitimate, its technology is primitive, and its industries are nonexistent. Everything in that backwater county pales in comparison to the Mordian Empire, true inheritor of Algada.

This story's seemingly not a self-insert or RPG type one, more similar to a kind of Victorian era fantasy story? The magic's not been explored yet and not much really has happened, but the start is interesting! Red seems like an interesting character, if a bit of a recluse and introvert who can't speak to people. The prose is quite good and professional, with the formatting not being clunky and word choices flowing well into each other.
Edit: Chapter 2 continues and is still going strong, so I'm bumping up my score!

A facinating story that really goes to show how those Solies see Algada as a whole - truely facinating how the other side lives, even if it's so antiquated.
It's a shame they'll never make it to the Twilight Forests, but hopefully infinite nothingness isn't too boring for them.
Excellent piece of work! Facinating read.

An interesting, if wholly fictional, insight into the Lewnnian psyche. Demonstrating how querulous and immature their "people" can be. It also makes illusions to a nature of self-sacrafice, kinship and loyalty, doubtless proof of it's writers subconcious adoption of superior Mordian culture, following our successful expansion of Mordia's natural borders.
